Do MLB contracts have incentives and such like NFL? MLB ended a bonus & contact combo in like 2011?? I'm think it was Strasburg that had a bonus and contact combined for $15 mil in 2009. Harper was lower, but still a bonus + contract combo that induced signings.

Rutschman made the MLB minimum in his first two years but had added bonuses. www.spotrac.com/mlb/player/earnings/_/id/30399/adley-rutschmanI think 2022 was for runner-up in rookie of the year. And then last year is was either the silver slugger or 1st team catcher in some award (or both). Steven Kwan had a bonus last year of $477K. Starting next year they are both eligible for arbitration. Expect Rutschman to be making 8 figures. If Kwan ends up over .330 or so he may get that also.

They should have pulled the trigger, now the number is going to start with a 1.

Guerra $150,000 McDowell $100,000 I believe that that narrows down the drama to just Jacob Kmatz and Elijah Hainline and recruit, Zach Swanson.

Some intrigue with both Kmatz and Hainline. With the younger Kmatz showing up in Corvallis is there a chance Jacob returns if he receives a low ball offer? Hainline could rightfully believe he is sitting on a big season if he returned. Not saying it will happen for either player, just not completely dismissing the possibility.

I'm certain Swanson signed but yeasterday, MLB showed him still unsigned.
His slot was $199,100 which would have made him the steal of the draft. Personally I thought it would take $500-600k to lure him away from OSU.

This is the story saying he is signing for third round money. Good stuff. The story said that he is "likely" signing for third-round money. That assumes that the Tigers can pull that off. We'll see.
