Kentucky's Proud Park is a $49m ball yard that opened in 2019. It seats 2,500 with "berm seating" that takes it up to 7,000 capacity. The yard's dimensions are 335' in LF, 400' in CF and a "Bazzana-Kasper-Macias-McDowell friendly" 320' in RF. A short porch of 320; and a modest wall height. Bon Appetite, Bazz. 320 with a short fence...is this softball?

Don't expect Bazz to get too many hitable pitches. Kentucky will likely pitch around him. They go on record at saying they don't want one player to beat them and will intentionally walk. And those unintentional walks to star players were pitchers that wouldn't throw strikes at them. Not sure how they feel doing that with a 400 hitter right behind them, but that seems to be the strategy. They walked Condon 5 times and Caglianone 8 times in their series. Math light be different with Baz. Condon and Cags aren't exactly swift on the bases. 3 SB a piece.

It also depends on the prevailing wind direction.

Since it has been demonstrated that they'll steal a bunch of bases, the key for Oregon State is no walks or hit batters, particularly the leadoff guy each inning. Walk him, he steals second, and they have 3 chances to plate him. Can't give up garbage runs like that.
Oh, and if you're reading this Bridger, that goes for hit batters too.

It's one thing to have a monster wall when it's only 310 in left. It's another when the monster wall has a big curve in the middle of it causing balls to ricochet all different directions off of it.

The wall is staying and they are putting seat on top of it (the home run deck is what they are calling it)

Kansas State 135/159 2. Kentucky 113/134 3. West Virginia 86/110 4. Virginia 84/108 5. North Carolina 83/92 6. Connecticut 81/109 7. Texas A&M 74/86 8. Florida State 61/71 9. Oregon 59/81 10. Clemson 58/72 11. Oregon State 57/69 12. Evansville 54/68 13. Tennessee 45/60 14. NC State 43/53 15. Florida 38/48 16. Georgia 22/24
Since Kentucky is so fast, do we see more Smith than Weber?

I don't think you can really go wrong honestly. With Kentucky having less power and more small ball go defensive. If bats are dead rotate through DH

As an enthusiastic but less than knowledgeable Beaver baseball fan, my perception would be that the current team will only to likely to advance past the super regional if there bats are hot.
My observations are that if the Beavs do not score a lot of runs, their base running, errors, and mental mistakes will do them in.
I hope I am wrong and they certainly have the talent to prove me so. However they so often screw up the basics that I listed above that are so necessary to go all the way.
Go Beavs!

Since Kentucky is so fast, do we see more Smith than Weber? So I thought Weber was sposed to have the better arm......maybe Smith has a better release?
