For the Beavs to go on the road to win a trip to Omaha against an SEC opponent, this is as good as the opportunities get. Has Kentucky ever been to Omaha before? A little added pressure there.
Our guys must believe that we are better than they are and we just need to go out and play solid baseball.

Our guys must believe that we are better than they are and we just need to go out and play solid baseball. Kentucky played in the 1988 Northeast Regional Championship Game in New Britain, Connecticut, against Stanford. After St. John's upset Stanford, Kentucky only needed to win one of the final two games to go to Omaha. Instead, the Cardinal won 6-5 and 16-2 to punch their ticket. Stanford wound up winning the 1988 National Championship. Kentucky won the 2017 Lexington Regional but were swept out of the 2017 Louisville Super Regional 5-2 and 6-2. Kentucky won the 2023 Lexington Regional, as well, but were swept out of the 2023 Baton Rouge Super Regional 14-0 and 8-3. 2024 is the first time that Kentucky won an SEC Championship and has still been alive after the first three days of the Tournament. I am hoping that the ghosts of 1988, 2017, and 2023 (and pretty much all of the years between) continue to haunt Lexington.

Two of the three teams that have punched a ticket to Omaha against Kentucky have won the National Championship: Stanford in 1988 and LSU last year.

Kentucky's Proud Park is a $49m ball yard that opened in 2019. It seats 2,500 with "berm seating" that takes it up to 7,000 capacity. The yard's dimensions are 335' in LF, 400' in CF and a "Bazzana-Kasper-Macias-McDowell friendly" 320' in RF.
A short porch of 320; and a modest wall height.
Bon Appetite, Bazz.

I think we a have 50/50 shot at Omaha. If May/Kmatz continue like they have been.....Keljo has emerged. I think Mundts last outing was a blip. Holmes continues to be dirty. Bats are pretty hot.....even Guerra is hitting! Defense has been spotty still.....that could be a huge factor. We must limit sloppy play in the field.
Obviously, being on the road is tough. But, the Kentucky humidity just gets our guys acclimated to Omaha weather a week earlier.

Screw the sec. Last time we went to Omaha we outscored the so called mighty sec 54-12. Knocking off lsu, miss st, and Arkansas. Tired of the attention that league gets. When playing them carry a big stick and hammer that f ing ball over the fence.

Same record as Tennessee in conference, but Tennessee won the series against Kentucky. They also didn’t finish in the top 3 in overall record, they only have 43 wins currently. Arky, Tennessee, and Texas A&M all have better overall records.

UK site doesn't list 2006 as conference champs (20-10) as mentioned above. They won their division, but states no SEC titles until 2024. The SEC site has Bama and UK listed as co-champs '05-06. I'll assume the tie breaker with UT was for tourney seeding and they were considered co-champs with 22-8 records?? Not sure why the differing info? Glitch in info or ?

Don't expect Bazz to get too many hitable pitches. Kentucky will likely pitch around him. They go on record at saying they don't want one player to beat them and will intentionally walk. And those unintentional walks to star players were pitchers that wouldn't throw strikes at them. Not sure how they feel doing that with a 400 hitter right behind them, but that seems to be the strategy. They walked Condon 5 times and Caglianone 8 times in their series.

MMD and Gavin better have their bats ready then. Would hate for them to walk Baz to load the bases at some point and have Gavin come up...
