On March 9, 2024, 61-year-old William Roger "Rocket" Clemens threw a 1/3 of an inning in a 5-4 Savannah Bananas win (a point for each inning won) over their perennial rivals, the Party Animals. The game was the first ever involving the Savannah Bananas at a MLB baseball stadium. Clemens gave up three runs and an additional two that he inherited. But because of the point system, the five runs only were worth one point. The game was played in front of 41,000+ fans in sold-out Minute Maid Park. |
