Pretty sure I remember some Laif Palmer doubter comments when I said him coming back from injury was going to be huge for the pen/staff. 95-97? Pretty good secondary stuff? Ya, not going to help at all! lol

I’m just messing around. This was just a post tailored for the the 1 or 2 people who said Palmer wouldn’t help the staff that much when he was healthy. Just a snarky post everyone can chill lol.

Scott looked really good as well. Big pieces out of the pen with some power stuff.

Palmer looks like a young Skenes! Scott looks like a Pro with command.

In his delivery of the pitch, on first take Palmer looks like a young right handed Randy Johnson.

Pitching help is never a bad thing.

Pitching help is never a bad thing. Palmer & Scott getting into last night game could not have come at a better time. Palmer: 1 inning, 3 batters, 11 pitches (8 strikes), 1 SO, no hits
Scott: 1 inning, 3 batters, 11 pitches (8 strikes), 2 SO, no hits

That was a small data set for Laif but I'll just do my 2 cents off what I saw against Gonzaga in the exhibition game.
He is a power pitcher that makes good use of change up and alternating velocity. His top end velocity is enough that guys can't sit on the change up because his fast ball is dominating. His location was pretty solid but had a tendency to throw high zone.
The most fascinating thing was that he had a traditional arm slots and a 3/4 arm slot. He could throw a straight heater from either slot and change up from either slot, this confused the hell out of the batters. Not sure if he will continue to throw from multiple slots at OSU, didn't notice it on Tuesday.
Imo until Jimenez is back and healthy Palmer could be the stopper our bullpen needs. Games start to get close have Laif come in and blow their skirts off for 2 innings and follow it up with one of our many breaking ball specialists.

I think I'll hold off on the hall of fame inductions for Scott and Palmer until they actually face a team that's not one of the worst hitting teams in the country.

Haha, I was waiting for Smails or rgeorge to come into this thread and poo poo on people being excited with Scott’s and Palmer’s return. Has anyone seen the “Debbie Downer” skits on SNL? Obviously it was one inning against lower competition, but the stuff is there. Just watch them throw and you can see that they will bring some much needed talent to our bullpen. You can’t deny, regardless of the competition, that Palmer’s arm looked electric.
