Didn't we lose to portland last time we played them. At gill. probably. We’ve sucked for the last 30 years.

Is it too early to speculate on where Pope goes?
My guess is he goes to UCLA and joins his buddy Bona

Right now if team stays intact I see a .500 conf record in WCC. If the small-school kid who got hurt pre-season can add some offense, maybe 10-8. Problem is Tinkle is getting Few-like money and don’t see him putting up Few- or Bennett-like record. And unless Bennett gets a new contract, he will be making about $1.7m less than WT next year. Let that sink in — he makes less than 40% of what Wayne makes.

I honestly expect him to be coaching here even after next year…maybe with a salary adjustment, or maybe not.

I'm assuming there's got to be other perks in Few's contract that boost his salary. I realize Tinkles salary is 7th in the conf that is now gone, as far he's concerned......but when you look at results....

I could have sworn the list I use had Few around $2M, but when I checked it yesterday it had Few up to a shade over $2.7M and Tinkle at 2.8M. So not sure what that is about. Regardless, he’s at the top of the pay scale in WCC now and I just don’t see them in top 2 in conference wins next year.

My guess is he goes to UCLA and joins his buddy Bona So far he's not planning on going anywhere. www.johncanzano.com/p/canzano-jordan-pope-all-in-for-theNot sure he would even start at UCLA. And his buddy isn't going to be at UCLA for very much longer, either. Like until their next loss, probably.

Didn't we lose to portland last time we played them. At gill. December 10, 2020. 87-86 Portland in overtime. That was Oregon State's last nonconference loss until the loss to Houston in the Elite Eight. The Beavs also lost to Portland at the Moda Center in 2016. Oregon State's last loss to Portland before that was 76-62 at the Chiles Center on December 10, 2005.

Let that sink in — he makes less than 40% of what Wayne makes. Personally, I am curious to see whether the West Coast Conference stays with a 16-game conference slate or goes to 18 or 20 games. With BYU, they kept it at 16 games. Maybe Oregon State and Wazzu are big enough draws that they will not want to play more nonconference games? Who knows? If Oregon State keeps the team intact, the Beavs will win games against teams like Loyola-Marymount, Pacific, Pepperdine, Portland, and San Diego with their eyes closed. There is such a large talent disparity that it would take a very off night by Oregon State or a very on night by one of those teams to make it even close, regardless of where it is played. Just looking at how Wazzu and the West Coast teams performed this year, there are only five teams that will seriously challenge Oregon State: St. Mary's, Gonzaga, Wazzu, San Francisco, and Santa Clara. Even this year's Oregon State has shown an ability to beat pretty much everyone on any given night. If the Beavers can beat Arizona in Gill, they can literally sweep every West Coast team at Gill and Wazzu, too. Having said that, losing to a team like Stanford at Gills means that Oregon State might also lose 4-5 times at Gill. On the road, it matters how many of the five teams above Oregon State plays on the road. St. Mary's is tough at Moraga, but they are not a juggernaut, and it is silly to pretend that they are. Gonzaga is tough to beat in Spokane, but St. Mary's did it this year and then beat the Zags at Orleans Arena, as well. Wazzu is tough at Pullman, but Oregon State played Wazzu better than most of Wazzu's Pac-12 opponents in Pullman. San Francisco lost bad to both St. Mary's and Gonzaga in San Francisco and lost bad to Gonzaga at Orleans Arena, as well. Oregon State certainly has a chance to win there, as well. Santa Clara lost to San Diego and Yale at home and got crushed by St. Mary's. But Santa Clara did beat the Zags by one at home. If Santa Clara is on, they have been tough to beat. Personally, though, I believe that any talk about Oregon State going .500 or two games .500 are laughable. The Beavs go at least four games over .500, unless the team just gets wrecked this offseason or there are a bunch of injuries in the early part of next season.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought WCC’s commissioner said men would have 18-game schedule and women 20.
I have no doubt that you believe Beavers will be at least 4 games over .500 in conference. I disagree but unlike you I don’t label opinions I don’t agree with as laughable. I think at one point I posted OSU’s record against WCC teams since Tinkle has been here and it isn’t stellar. I believe it was a winning record but didn’t include much in the way of games against the good teams and did include losses against some of the bad teams.
If I’m right about the 18-game schedule, that means you believe team will be at least 11-7 in conference. I believe commish also said not both and maybe neither would have a home game against Gonzaga. I think it is very likely we play WSU twice. So let’s say Beavs only play Gonzaga and St. Mary’s 3 times total and WSU twice. I can easily see Beavs losing all 5 of those games. Yes, maybe they win one, maybe even two, but I’m not betting on it. With 0-5 in those games, that means need to go 11-2 in other league games. In my scenario, Beavs would have 7 other home games. If they sweep those, that still means they need to go 4-2 on the road. I think it is likely Beavers lose at least 1 of those other home games, which means they’d need 5 road wins. We know the difficulty Beavs have on the road. Don’t really see that scenario as laughable. Throw in the likelihood of every current WCC team getting up to beat the big, bad teams from the Pac 12, and I think my scenario becomes even less “laughable.”
As an aside, I predicted 5 conf wins this year in the pre-conference schedule poll. I believe you were at 7 or 8. Remind me how many conference games Beavs won this year.
