Hear me out. Let's buy a ton of powerball tickets and if we win build a dome. Make it 20k seats and become a destination for tournaments! It's fool proof. Let's type up a proposal to Jensen......throw in a retractable roof He doesn't seem reliable for athletic funding. Our best bet is Powerball.

There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear. I used to feel like this. I've sat in many a duck blind. I've stood in many a stream, in winter. Hell, I grew up trolling for steelhead on the Columbia, in EO.....I've got the gear. Thing is, I have a million other things going on with kids sports, home projects, other family commitments......every weekend is full of stuff. If the weather is gonna be total s%#t against NDST, I feel like my time probly better spent on an indoor project, and kids basketball/volleyball.......I only get to go to so many Beaver games. I'd rather go when the weather is better. Not to mention I live in Salem, so it's a little different then if I lived in Corvallis. I live in Stayton - and I am going tomorrow. Although I do admit, being under cover plays into that decision!

Warm weather Baseball Coach talking to a hot recruit: "Why would you ever want to play baseball in the wet and cold of Corvallis, Oregon ?"
Mitch Canham retort: "So you won't be spending the rest of your life fighting skin cancer from all that sun exposure!"
Chortle . . . chortle

Forward looking radar is starting to show a break right at 4 with mostly dry and just spotty showers till 8. They might have to go, rest of the weekend doesn’t look any better. Can’t beat fun at the ole ballpark

My son was co-lead of the War on Melanoma at OHSU, and he was quoting all sorts of things. The one you don't want to hear? Oregon has a high rate of melanoma because people don't use sunscreen enough. We're too gray, so when we're sunny, we don't think about covering our skin.
The other one you didn't want to hear? Survival rate is merely 30% when not caught early. Keep an eye on your skin. Look for changes.

Two years ago, we wore rain gear to all but 4 regular season games. Used to be we’d never miss a game but age, major back surgery changing the old body thermostat, and every game streaming or on tv, and we’ll be staying home today….

100% with you. My dad asked me if I wanted to go to a game this weekend and I told him no. If it were a conference matchup, maybe.....but when it's cold enough to be a snow/rain mix.....nah, I'm good. There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear. Speaking of that, have you ever wondered why Gore-Tex apparel has seemingly not made it east of Colorado? Tune in an Iowa or Penn St game and all you see are plastic ponchos. I don't get it.* *Representing the thread redirection movement.

She says that it might just be a values thing. One use plastics are not a concern and weather issues tend to be more extreme and more seasonal so you just don't go outside when it's rough out. If you play that game in the PNW you just never go outside. She has said that younger people tend to buy more long term weather gear.

Y’all can (and probably WILL) disagree, but I don’t understand scheduling baseball, in Corvallis, in February/early March. I LOVE going to the Beaver games…. but I’m not going to freeze my ass off to sit through it. Miserable for the players, too. I’m a candy-ass. Almost al last week and all last weekend it was absolutely beautiful, sunny, highs near 60. It's always a crapshoot.
