That sounds horrible. I don't remember a lot of precipitation in North Dakota. I'm guessing Fargo weather is very similar to Minot weather. I just remember the wind whipping down from the Arctic when the temperature is hovering at about zero degrees F.

I wonder how the video stream will be...Historically we start with really bad camera angles etc. Let's hope we are in mid season form early

Saskatchewan screamers? Supposedly, whether they come from Saskatchewan or not, Alberta clippers originate in Alberta as warm moist ocean air makes its way over the Rockies into Alberta. The winds then pick up on that side of the Rockies and the storms increase in severity, moving the storms toward the Atlantic.

What I remember most from my years on the great northern plains are freaking cold winters, a lot of wind, a lot more sunshine than the Willamette Valley and great summers with no humidity, where it's light by 5 or 5:30 a.m. and still twilight until 10 p.m. or later, because we were about 30 miles from the Mountain Time Zone.
We were younger and stupider and measured driving distances by the number of beers (three beers to Fargo). Watched a lot of Brandon Wheat Kings junior hockey on the cable. I learned how to correctly spell Saskatchewan, and the order of the western provinces from east to west (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, BC).
Alberta clippers were real. Real miserable. The winter of 83-84 finally drove me out.

In all seriousness, other than stopping the a game for lightning, since we have artificial turf and rubber dirt, what is the criteria for cancelling a game? When are these decisions actually made?

If bats start flying or the players can’t grip the ball, they will delay/cancel. Also, if there’s standing water on the field. Rubber dirt?
