We know we want Boise State and San Diego State.
We know we want Stanford and Cal to return. SMU would be nice. (need ACC to dissolve w help from FSU)
Memphis and Tulane from the AAC? Or is that a bridge too far?
Other scraps from a fractured ACC conference?

Good news. At least Pac 2 can map out their plans while possibly negotiating a TV contract.
Hey Apple..which schools do you want us to poach?
SDSU for sure UNLV/Boise Tech/CSU/Fresno Tech strong contenders USU/WYO solid but offer little in terms of media markets The rest just that

Also noted is the fact that "The withdrawal and termination fees are waived if the entire 12-school Mountain West is accepted into the new Pac-12." I think we will try living together before marriage, with enough time and wiggle room built into the terms and conditions to make sure the potential other legacy Pac-12 liabilities are well understood, there is no follow on legal maneuvers from the traitorous 10, no Power 4 conference invites materialize, realignment doesn't take some interesting/weird turn, etc. etc. All other things being equal, would not be surprised if there is some wholesale MWC-Pac-2 merger if things go well and none of the aforementioned things mess things up. But I would also not be surprised if we create some super conference out of all the valuable parts of various Western US entities if a media deal facilitates it.
I think OSU and WSU have created the best possible situation for a 2+ year "wait and see" with realignment/Pac-12 fallout plus a reasonable "test drive" arrangement with a potential long term partner......making lemonade out of some pretty bitter lemons.
Go Beavers!

I have to admire the MWC for sticking with a unified front.

I have to admire the MWC for sticking with a unified front. I mean, I think if we had it our way we'd take like 4 of them... Good for them.

Looks like some shrewd negotiating by Gloria and the MWC. That’s the first impression.

Looks like some shrewd negotiating by Gloria and the MWC. That’s the first impression. I think MWC had exit fees already in place exclusive of their media contract. And those fees were higher than this

Yeah, it's not like any one MWC school could have jumped ship without huge fees anyways. That was already part of their MWC conference membership. Any school wanting to leave the MWC for anything would have to pay out the nose, so there was no leverage to pick and choose a handful of them, either on OSU/WSU's side or any school wanting to leave. Taking all of them, or paying out the nose to cherry-pick, those were the only deals we had, and it looks like those are still the only deals we have. We just have more time to decide.

can we spin those costs as 'future liabilities' and make the T10 pay

Pretty sure GK did a brilliant job at what the rich schools hired him for.

And I don't understand how all this makes Gloria "shrewd." How does she benefit from losing her four best teams? What other hand does she have to play, besides standing pat on punitive exit fees? And people can sugar coat this as a "Unified front" if they want but in truth what's holding the MWC together is punitive exit fees and those fees were in place before the Pac12 dissolution happened. Teams have tried to get out of the MWC in the past, sometimes successfully. Hence, the punitive exit fees.

We would probably be talking about next year's pac12 conference schedule.
