The value of the Pac-12 Network has been estimated at $250 million. I bothered to do a search after another poster mentioned the number and found it. You can search for yourself. Obviously, that number is based on it being an operational network, which is still is for the time being. I never said that the Pac-2 would be able to sell the Pac-12 Networks for $250 million. It would be highly unlikely. But pretending that the hardware alone has little value is nonsense. But this whole thing about the Pac-12 Network is a minor fragment of what the whole discussion/argument has been about, which is whether or not the Pac-2 has any leverage if it were to have merger talks with the MWC. Napkin math. That $250 million number appears to be a low estimate. The problem is that I do not know what the Pac-12's value is without 5/6's of the Pac-12. It is probably not nothing, but I doubt that is anything close to a quarter of $250 million. Well, the Big Ten Network has been valued at $1 billion. Clearly the Pac-12 Network's value is not going to be as high as it has been if it's no longer operational. Again, whatever it becomes is not going to be -- or at least unlikely to be -- a main bargaining chip in any negotiation. A few posters took that part of the discussion and ran with it.

Are you done now? I can choose to continue if I want. It was your own words that said you were done... but, you can't let go...

I've been consistent with both fact & my opinion and you continually want to rehash and predict the future. Discussion isn't your uneducated opinions stated as fact and others in the same boat being wrong. You ask I've (and others) answered the same crap repeatedly. You just can't understand why anyone would have a differing view than you on this topic. If you're not done don't spout your immature (and obviously dalse) "I'm going to take my ball and go" post. Then get po'd when called out. You obviously haven't been in a negotiation or understand when one party HAS have a certain resolution and others do not... one has no leverage! Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon

So here's the deal: I'm done with direct interactions with you. If you respond to me in a thread, I will ignore it. If you post to disagree with me, I will ignore it. I will continue to post on this thread in response to others. I will post what I want where I want.

You did! And, if "immature" is your idea of a personal attack... guess what!? And, that's my point. You ignore whatever disagrees with you! 🙄

Again, whatever it becomes is not going to be -- or at least unlikely to be -- a main bargaining chip in any negotiation. A few posters took that part of the discussion and ran with it. The Pac-12 Network IS operational, and what everyone seems to be missing in their narrow interpretation that it is worthless is that it doesn't have to be used for sports. The studios and network infrastructure are there and the plan is to lease it out, which will generate income, enough that the assets that come along with the Pac12 network won't just evaporate. It also has the potential to be an enormous financial liability if that doesn't work out. But at this point it is still an asset, and part of the package that makes OSU/WSU attractive to a potential suitor. The dollar value is really neither here nor there, it's a chip that at this point appears to be in our collective stack. The argument has gotten ugly here like it typically does in the offseason. To try and bring a little civility back: It may very well be that no other options better than a reverse merger with the MW exist when all the dust settles. It's obviously my opinion that it won't come to that, but perhaps I'm wrong.
