IMO, losing Bolden is a big deal. I'm not trying to be overly negative or positive here. Some posters have described him as electric and I agree. He could take the top off the defense or just make you miss in space. I was looking forward to what he might be able to do alongside someone like Anderson. I think Anderson and Malachi Durant could be great for OSU moving forward but it would have been huge to have Bolden for another season with them. And yeah, I don't think he's a Beaver for life as of now. He forfeits that status by leaving for another college program. But the fact that he stayed and played in the bowl game is quite meaningful IMO. So maybe we can think about reinstating him as a Beaver for life once he finishes his college career, depending on his future support of OSU in whatever form.

Definitions may/can vary... "Life". To me in talking athletics it is for his career. A Beaver sure. For "life"? Nope. I love all the kids that have played in a OSU uniform. But, a "Beaver for Life" isn't based on skills, it is a CAREER Beaver, or in my opinion one who chose to finish their college career as a Beaver. Not one who chose to use it as a stepping stone.
Beaver and Beaver for Life are different to me. One is a "special" category and one not defined by skill level, or even contributions.

Was he a number one option demanding bracket coverage the entire game, well no. Was his size at times a disadvantage, yes - especially in a run-first offense where you could really use some good blockers on the edge. In the end, he was somewhat underutilized at Oregon State for his specific skillset. Silas would be an absolute nightmare in an Air Raid offense.

Will always be a big fan. But a "Beaver for Life" is a guy who couldn't imagine leaving Corvallis unless he HAD to.

The whole "Beaver for life" idea is just a construct anyway. We can deem anybody a Beaver for life or take that away from them but it really doesn't matter. They can also declare themselves a Beaver for life and believe it to be true no matter what others might say.

Just a whole bunch of a-holes with opinions.

Especially considering a former Beaver for life just turned in his membership card to go to Michigan.

Twitter handle should be: $ila$
Not sure how much he sees the field at USC. They have a lot of really good WRs. 5 star kids who are probably a cut above $ilas.
Arizona would be better.
