I don't get the negative comments regarding Silas. He was our 1st or 2nd best receiver as I kind of see Gould and him as interchangeable. Yes, he was small so what. At anypoint on the field he could break it for a td. To somehow say well we recruited a 4 star guy that can take his place. Maybe, but probably not. I'd rather rely on a small, quick, fast experienced wide receiver than a receiver with zilch for experience. He did it right too. Came in 155 soaking wet and probably only got the schollie because of his brother. Great hands, fearless, dynamic and disciplined.

At this point in time, he must have a destination set, and the deal done, I would think, or he wouldn't just decide to test the market, so to speak. At least he stayed with his 2023 teammates through the bowl game.
Somebody who knows, tell me: How many years was he in the program? Is he, perchance, one of the 5 year covid guys?
In any event, good luck to him.

Come on now let’s not talk s%#t on Silas…getting sick of seeing things like this. Dude was a true competitor who put work in for multiple seasons! Real Beaver! Difference between s%#t talking a dude and making a fair observation about the situation. Yes, he came in small with few offers, worked his tail off, earned time and was a solid piece. He was an outstanding representative of Oregon State and for that I salute what he gave us. He is also transferring now, and in assessing that impact, we can assess that objectively speaking he was of average talent. That is the impact. He is replaceable. He is not a Mike Hass talent. He is not a Brandin Cooks, or a Sammie Strougther or an Isaiah Hodgins, or a James Rodgers. He was not an alpha #1 receiver that our offense ran through and an indispensable part of it. That isn't trashing the dude. As I have generally said before, I won't hold it against any kid looking out for their interests.

I looked it up. Silas spent 4 years with the program, and, I assume, has either graduated or is poised to do so. His leaving after 4 years, and opting to play his 'bonus' year elsewhere, is fine by me.
Taya Corosdale and Aleah Goodman each played 4 years for the women's basketball team, and each could have had a covid year. Taya opted to spend it playing at Duke, Aleah coaching at Duke; six of one, half a dozen of the other. Both can, very rightfully, claim to be 'Beavers for life.'
So can Silas.

Bvrbooster going for the record of most Women’s basketball comparisons. Silas was a good 2-3 inches taller than Rueck.

He’s leaving to go to another school, not the NFL. So he in fact is not a “real Beaver,” but just a dude leaving OSU. Let’s save the “Real Beaver” label for those that stick it out. For those who love OSU and Corvallis so they stay instead of leave.

Were definitely going to have to rebuild the offense. This from the Oregonian.
Counting those graduating, the only starters returning next season are running back Damien Martinez, tight end Jermaine Terry II and right guard Tanner Miller. Left tackle Joshua Gray is weighing whether to return for his senior year or enter the NFL draft.

Speedy but very undersized for this level of football. We won’t miss him on the field.

Brewer could go for injury test but no news yet. Miller, Gray and Starck are still a bit unknown with transfer or NFL in Gray's case. Likely new guys in the mix are Lopez, Vinic, Strand, Morano, Gonzales and Elu. Who knows maybe White will show up in a few games?
