Looks like a nice combo of youth/veterans and height.
I hope for a fun game and plenty of opportunity for the Beavers to work on rotations and play sets. I'm also hopeful for a stat stuffing 3+ players with double doubles. GO BEAVS!

Question do we have a freshman team. Why are we playing lame duck games. Whose psycie is so fragual we need these games. Are better teams in league are doing just the opposite. Colorado is building a hell of a resume thru pushing themselves pre season to new heighte. This isnt telling us anything about this team. We did this in Italy already!

The Freshman Team is just fine, thank you (Shuler, Paurova, Hunter). As far as the schedule: they've played Villanova (2-1, with that 1 loss being to the Beavs), and between now and mid-December, in addition to some weaker opponents, they'll play Western Kentucky (currently 4-1, with their single loss being by 3 pts to SEC Vanderbilt) and Santa Clara (currently 4-1, including a 'W' in an absolute slaughter of the Duck women, in Eugene).

Is this post for real? 3 games into the non conference (including a W against a 2023 sweet 16 team) and this guy is already melting-down to the point where he can barely communicate in English.

Well, true the above post is over the top. But, no one should confuse this NC schedule for anything other than weak.
Only OSU (11th) & UW (12th) have SOS over 200 by a significant margin. And, it'll not improve before Pac12 play.
Citing Villanova is a bit of a loser as they are a shell of the '23 team. And, you just have to look at rosters/length to see OSU should be dominant inside.
There really no valid conclusions that can drawn so far as Pac12 play.

My question is why would the University of Maryland, Baltimore County travel across the country to play a game on Thanksgiving Eve? They aren't playing any other teams out here. Hope they stick around and get to go to the beach or something. Perhaps their team can go to the Ruecks for Thanksgiving dinner.

I am happy to see OSU WBB play at all. Just keep winning. No mercy on the lesser teams. Learn how to keep the pedal to the metal and play suffocating defense and get out and run when we can now that we have some team speed. When OSU gets into PAC-12 play, everything changes, and its a new season. We need to win the close PAC-12 games we lost last year & overall have more wins than losses to get into the NCAA tournament.
This team is getting better every game while the coaches play different combinations of players. I feel better about this season vs last season already, and I see our guard play and post play better now this early in this season than it was at the end of last season. Having Aleah coaching the guards is a huge plus for this OSU WBB team. Kelsey Rees has already made our post play much better.
Just keep winning. GO BEAVS

Yeah..I don't have a problem with the "easier" schedule. This is a team that not only has three and maybe four (Paurova) new players that need to find their roles and get comfortable in game action but has two key players in TVO and Gardiner who were hobbled by injuries last year and could definitely use this time to get back up to speed. As others have said, Rueck will be able to sort through different combinations and hopefully will have a strong idea of what he wants to do as far as personnel by Pac-12 play. And it certainly doesn't hurt for the team to keep winning and build some confidence and momentum before the Pac-12 games start.

Colorado is building a hell of a resume thru pushing themselves pre season to new heighte. This isnt telling us anything about this team. We did this in Italy already! Beavs play an easy non-conference schedule for a few reasons. 1) The team is really young. They need experience and time on the court together. 2). They need to experience winning and learn how to win. Last season they lost just about every close game. 3). Most importantly, the PAC-12 is absolutely loaded. It will be a challenge to win 8 or 9 games, so being 11-0 heading into conference is critical. If they can get to 20 wins, they will have a pretty good shot at the tournament. Villanova win was good. Santa Clara drilled the Ducks by 40, so that will be a challenge. Will be curious to see how their game against Texas Tech goes this week. Anyway, I am ok with a softer schedule this season.

It's definitely a soft schedule, but with enough challenges there to really help this team grow, and a couple opponents may give the Beavs a tough time. We'll learn a bit about each team this week. Future opponent Texas Tech plays Rutgers and Santa Clara this week. Santa Clara also plays Boise State along with Texas Tech. Western Kentucky, who is currently 4-1 with the only loss coming at the hands of Vanderbilt by 3pts, plays Kansas State and two other opponents this week at the Gulf Coast classic. They play three games total, and they could end up playing a weakling, or they could end up facing North Carolina or Iowa....or both. Jackson State, currently 3-0, who normally play tough, and seemingly willing to go play anywhere faces St. Johns on Saturday and Kansas St on December 1st.
We'll learn quite a bit about the Beavs over that stretch. I'm not sure how ready this team will be for Pac12 play at that point, but there is every reason to believe they will continue to grow. Pac12 has some really good teams this year so wins will be hard fought.

I think scheduling winnable non-league games for this team and program makes sense. Let's face it, the program is on a pretty major downward trend. And the league is going to be as good or better than ever. 4 top 6 teams in the country, 5 top 10.
We're likely not beating Stanford, Utah, Colorado, USC, or UCLA. WSU is also likely better than us. UW, UA, UO all winnable but we'll have to play a good game to get a W. Cal and ASU, we should beat.
Play the odds and do the math, Pac12 play may not be pretty win/loss wise and yet the team could potentially be considered fairly good. I think a realistic goal if we play above expectations is still 7th in league and one of the last ones in the tournament. Having a highly successful non-league will help with confidence and total wins which does factor in at the end of the season.

Who is the real Santa Clara? The one that demolished Oregon, or the one who lost to Cal by 15? They also have wins over San Jose St. and Hawaii by 8 and 11 point margins. I suspect the UO game was very much an outlier.
