After last season I like seeing the Beavs win close games rather than blow outs. They need to learn that they should win those games. I think it will pay dividends in conference play.

I think once some of the others establish themselves it could make for a pretty good season. I think Beers can carry the team to a certain degree while chemistry is developed with the newer players and Rueck finds out what combinations play the best together. |

Refs suck. That said, 11 turnovers in the game, with 5 occurring in the first quarter. I believe they said we had 9 at half. If that’s correct then we had just 3 in the 2nd half. Nice to see the postgame crowd mingle looking like pre-Covid days. |

LOL. Pac-12 color commentator just can’t manage “von Oelhoffen”. “Vinolvin” is tha best she can do. Took lessons from the Notre Dame announcer of several years ago. |

I think that's a game we would have lost last year. Big confidence builder for our kids, playing a lot of freshmen and holding their own without Raegan. Good stuff! Rees is a big, big addition to this team. |

Solid win. Obviously not as good as last year, but Villanova has some solid players - especially Olsen.
Hope to see Blacklock get going. She was so phenomenal late last year.

Such an important win. Hopefully it will help exorcise some of last season's late game melts.
btw, Villanova was picked as #4 in the Big East pre-season (nearly #3), behind just UConn, Creighton & Marquette.
The defense and overall basketball smarts of this 2023/24 team is well ahead of the 2022/23 rendition.
Has there ever been two freshmen from Oregon High Schools as 'ready' as Donovyn Hunter and Schuler? What great recruiting!
Aleah came in as the only freshman from Oregon (and she started zero games as a freshman).
Siegner and Deven Hunter (2012-13) were both contributors as Freshmen, and Devon started most of her freshman season.
But to see a freshman PG from Medford, Oregon, leading the team in minutes played (albeit after only 2 games) is pretty neat. In 2 games for Donovyn: 9 assists / 2 turnovers. Refreshing!

Sometimes he actually gets it right then other times it’s the Irish thing. |
