Villanova plays U of Portland on Friday, Nov 10 at 6:00 PST in the Chiles Center. If you want to do some scouting prior to the OSU game on Sunday. I expect Rueck will be there watching in person. |

With Maddy gone Villanova will have a 30 point hole to fill. But defensively they are returning 5 of their top 7 players so they should still be difficult to score on.

Maddie Siegrist: 29.2 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 1st team All-American, 3rd overall pick in the WNBA draft---I don't think Villanova will be anything close to as good as they were last year!

Nova got off to a fast start, now both teams are playing sloppy. 17-6 nearing end of Q1, but it was 11-0 out of the gate.
UP lost a 4 year stalwart player as well. Alex Fowler wasn't as big of a name as Siegrist, but a very big loss for them.

Nice props for Ellie Mack by the announcers of the Pilot game, mentioning that after she was the reason for the eastern swing a few years ago, now (today) is the reason Villanova was looking to add a second game while out west to play the Beavs.

Nova is gonna win decisively, but Portland looked like hot garbage, so it's hard to tell if Nova is particularly good or not.

Based on the box score against UP, it looks like their guards Olsen, Burke and Runyan do the heavy lifting. I don’t think anyone wants to mess with a Beers/Rees combo in the paint. Perimeter defense seems to be one of keys for a win tomorrow.
