8 Beavs have more minutes thru 3Q than TVO. What's that about? Can't say for sure but when she is in the game she isn't bringing anything other than acting as a place holder for those that need a break. After we ran the other team in the 3rd quarter, Rueck subbed Talia, et al, back in and the team seemed to slow way down. Maybe Dominika and Donovyn were tired but both of them were in the zone when they were subbed out. Donovyn, Dominika, Kelsey and Raegan are bona vide "DAWGS". Dominika has upper level speed and confidence. The Beavs could run with this team and did. Early on they missed several shots (many lay-ups) and many free throws. The other team hit some good 3's early on but the averages eventually caught up with them. There were a couple of bogus calls by the refs but they evened themselves out. And don't sleep on Shuler she is also very quick and has great moves to the cup. She was also on the floor when the 3rd quarter run was made.

27 minutes 6/12 shots 1/2 triples 1/4 ft 14 points 3 reb 1 foul 6 assists 0 turnovers
That is a really good first college game for Donovyn. Especially since the defenders were really hounding her.

I was so impressed by Hunter. Boy can she hang on both ends of the floor. And I never felt nervous when the ball was in her hands- haven’t felt like that since Aleah left. I won’t be surprised if she’s starting at the 1 pretty soon here.

Hunter and Paurova add a dimension that Rueck teams rarely have; athleticism that translates at both ends of the court.

Anyone see what happened to Raegan on that technical foul against her right near the end of the game? Didn't look like anything physical so maybe some magic words were unleashed?

I think the apb player was frustrated because she couldn't do anything with Raegan. No matter how hard she pushed she couldn't move her. When the foul was called on her she must have said something. With how quick the call was made either she was either way over the line or had been complaining before.
Sad thing is that it took away any chance apb had of winning.

When you see one of our players get under another player's skin so thoroughly, just by being dominant, it's a good thing. It'll be interesting to see the score of APB vs uo on Wed.

Well sad for her team and especially her. They used a lot of energy today, I hope they can recuperate before their next game. At least it's a couple days.

We also “gassed” their center. At times, she couldn’t make it back to center court on defense. Channeling UW’s Osahor.

It's just one game, with a couple exhibitions under their belt but here's some early thoughts. Beavs have a lot of talent, but don't play well as a team yet. I think it will take a while to find out which players work best together to form that team. That is what the non-conference season is all about, so playing 11 tonight was a good thing. I think we need to remember that the Beavs lost 4 starters, and the two players who handled the ball the most from last season (Bendu, Noelle, Jelena and Shalexxus). Nor do they play defense until they get in trouble. I would feel a lot better if they came out playing aggressive defense from the start. This seems to be a hangover from the last few seasons, and a bit surprising since Coach is so big on defense. AJ may have still been playing on a sore ankle, so I can only hope she will be more productive as the season goes along. Timea has all the talent in the world, but doesn't seem ready for prime-time yet. I don't think we will see her full potential until she gets a lot more minutes. Non-conference season is the time to get those minutes. There were a lot of missed shots right around the basket tonight. I hope that was more first game jitters and not a sign of bad shooting. The Dom and Dono show was fun tonight. I've said all along that the freshman class was underrated, and it looks like they are a great follow up class to last season's freshman group. Dom continues to look like Mik, and I want to see more of her this season. I don't know if Dono is ready to go against Pac-12 talent, but I think she'll hold up pretty well. There is certainly a bright future within her reach.

Our freshmen are exciting and flat out can play. Donovyn with zero turnovers? Are you kidding me? That stat alone is amazing given how up in her grill she was defended by a very quick team. Dominka has been the greatest surprise in the 2 games thus far. Our freshmen are fast and push the ball very well in transition. Kennedie will join the cause when she gets a few more minutes as she is very quick as well.
I love the way Lily is playing. Lily is steady Eddy. Coach can count on Lily. Her 6'2" frame on the perimeter is very difficult to shoot over and Lily is a heady defender. We will get better and it was pointed out that we have a deep bench and coach has the ability to play match up with our opposition. Coach did do right by playing the right players coming out in the 2nd half. Hopefully our free throw shooting will improve in the next contest.
GO BEAVS!

Anyone see what happened to Raegan on that technical foul against her right near the end of the game? Didn't look like anything physical so maybe some magic words were unleashed? I didn't notice anything physical during the live stream but I had recorded the live stream to my computer so I went back and looked at the play and during the scramble for the ball RB inadvertently pushed the APG player out of her way and she didn't take kindly to it and went after RB and gave her a quick shove in the shoulder area and also mouthed off to RB. The T was called because of the shove to RB. My sound was not working on the stream so what I didn't understand was why we got 4 FT's on the T---2 by RB and then 2 by Lily. Was there a 2nd T called for the mouthing off or maybe on the coach---anyone know?

I still believe TVO can be an offensive machine---Coach needs to draw up some plays specifically tailored for her strengths of catch and shoot the 3 or fake the shot and drive to the hoop to get her going! Believe you're right. This team isn't going anywhere unless Talia goes back to being Talia. Need to get her back to being a huge part of the offense, and the sooner the better.
