Hunter IS the OSU point guard Leading team in minutes played, with less than 5 minutes to go. OSU WBB has a good history of Oregonians at PG.

I'm not seeing the Beavers as being slow. This is likely the fastest team in a long time. Even our huge post has wheels. Donovyn definitely will be giving Martha a run for point guard duties. They looked comparatively slow until Rueck put in Hunter and Paurova and Gardiner and went to a lineup with Rees for a lot of the second and third...those players weathered the storm, got the Beavers back into it and Beers then took charge.

A glimpse of why Green is likely at a SWAC school (definitely not her lack of talent).

Good 2nd half [52-28].
Surprise (to me) tonight: Blacklock 6 minutes. Speed (lack)?

That was a really nice win. Impressed with Rueck not just stubbornly sticking with players who maybe weren't quite the answer against a very quick, fast team. I know there's going to be some people wondering about TVO. Is she still off a bit? Maybe. But I really think Rueck understood that she wasn't the answer in a game like this. I think the same went for Blacklock, who had a few pretty big games at the end of last year. Matchups matter and the Beavers showed they can handle a team like this with what looks to be a pretty deep roster. And it shows how Rueck was pretty insightful in his recruiting as far as bringing in Hunter, Paurova and Rees.

Interesting game. Not great perimeter D. Rebounding/blocking out will need some work. Did we forget to practice FT shooting all summer? TVO has become an enigma. Donovan great add. Rees seemed slow to react to shots going up, otherwise a good add. No Sela minutes? As mentioned already, Paurova a budding star. Good comeback, but speedy, scrappy teams remain something we don't cope well with. Too early to draw too many conclusions, but some really good pieces there, but I guess I expected more polish given the Italy trip...... Go Beavers!

I don't think they encountered ANY challenging competition on the Italy trip. So, good for team bonding but I doubt much was learned on the hardwood between the lines.

I mean, they were playing more than likely one of the fastest teams they will this season. Perimeter D got better with some key substitutions. Rebounding was fine. It can always get better, I suppose. TVO isn't an enigma to me. And she's not a good fit against a team like APB, nor is Blacklock, though they are both very good players. Again, matchups matter. Sela probably won't play many minutes and certainly was not someone they were going to go to tonight. Agree on Hunter and Paurova, of course.

I still believe TVO can be an offensive machine---Coach needs to draw up some plays specifically tailored for her strengths of catch and shoot the 3 or fake the shot and drive to the hoop to get her going!

Second half was very cathartic. Hopefully that's more reflective of what we have going forward.

Yeah, she can be and has been at times. So has Blacklock when she got a few opportunities last year...but in this game it just wasn't happening early on. Lily wound up being the one to hit a couple of big 3s to help spark the comeback. I think OSU fans should be happy that (after one game, anyway) it looks like the roster is pretty deep and varied. That's a great thing in that it really helps with matching up with different teams but sometimes it will keep very good players on the bench more than in the past. Just my take, anyway.

So we play a quick and fast team and the statistic that jumps out to me is turn overs. We won that battle 9-10. I'm not sure if I would ever see that from the Beavers

I’d like to see Paurova as a starter.
