During an WSU advisory board meeting, a presenter told the board the NCAA confirmed they would get the two year grace period to repopulate the Pac-12. Important confirmation, as there was a lot of questions if it will actually be allowed based on vague language.

atownbeaver - thanks for posting this. It's nice to get confirmation of what we thought we were going to get. Washington State's athletic director Pat Chun sent a letter to the NCAA asking for "compassion, understanding, and flexibility" for OSU's and WSU's situation. At first, I was annoyed by Chun's letter because it felt like we were groveling. But if it helped produce the result in atownbeaver's post above, I'll bite my lip and gladly take it. www.seattletimes.com/sports/wsu-cougar-football/washington-state-ad-pat-chun-asks-ncaa-for-compassion-as-school-moves-forwardLooks like maybe our friends in Pullman are holding their own on contributing to this unfortunate journey we're on.

Two years may be just long enough for the traitors to come running back.

Two years may be just long enough for the traitors to come running back. Why would we take them back?

We'll be too busy with the newly rebuilt Pac. They had their chance.

"The threshold for championship access, however, is higher..."
But this part concerns me.

"The threshold for championship access, however, is higher..." But this part concerns me. It means there will be no automatic bids, because it's not a 6-team conference, which is the NCAA minimum for automatic qualification for hoops; five-team minimum for other sports.

Two years may be just long enough for the traitors to come running back. Why would we take them back? for a partial share? Why not?

Two years may be just long enough for the traitors to come running back. Why would we take them back? Tradition. History. Money. Legitimacy. And most fans would rather watch the Beavs play them than Wyoming or Air Force.

NO NCAA tournament autobids in any sport as a two team conference. All sports would have to qualify as at large candidates.

You realize they basically couldn't afford to come back until the end of their new conference's media deals? Without seeing the actual contacts I'm betting any exit fees are near high 8 figures, if not more. The ACC GoR exit fee is supposedly $120mil and the ACC still has the broadcasting rights of the school leaves. The traitors may want to leave (very much doubt it as it's the Administration's call), but none could actually afford to.

Why would we take them back? for a partial share? Why not? Well done!!! Simply fabulous. Partial share, LOL. This is getting the cart ahead of the horse, but several times I've thought that if Stanford and Cal ever want to return to a west coast conference, they're going to find it containing schools they don't want to share a conference with. The price for academic snobbery! Those geniuses.

For example, what will happen to their basketball teams, their beach volleyball teams. Will it be economically feasible for them to play so far out of their region? I don’t see how. I don’t see how it can be good for the schools, the students, or the states. It may be cheaper to buy themselves out. Wait and see, I guess.
