After passing on the field goal at the end of the first half, he said in the interview as they left the field, "We're an aggressive team; we play to win." It turned out that they played to lose.
Do you think he would have liked to have those 3 points later?

There is a significant difference between being aggressive and foolish. You could maybe make the case that the first two attempts to go for it on 4th down were aggressive, but that late game call of going for it on 4th down at midfield instead of punting it was foolish.
But you can't tell "The Smartest Guy in the Room ™" anything. And this won't be the last game that he costs Oregon.

Egos get bloated off the success of stupid. It's becoming ever increasingly common for people to mistake bad ideas having a successful result as justification for continuing to make obviously bad decisions.

Do you think he would have liked to have those 3 points later? Especially when there’s no guarantee that you even get a td if you pick up the first down. I don’t get why you wouldn’t just try for the 3 points. Like teams that are less aggressive and take the points aren’t playing to win.

I wanted to give the fans some sizzle!"

I was going in with an open mind, but when Lanning said that dumb s%#t at the half, looking so smug smarmy. I just cannot help but root against them every time.

Do you think he would have liked to have those 3 points later? I tried to imagine how I'd feel if JS made those exact same calls. The first one at end of half...at that point, probably wouldn't have bothered me too much. Second one down by 2 scores seemed idiotic...but UO D forced a punt and shortly after UO was up by 3 Last one I would have definitely punted, but I'm not sure it mattered. UW made the yardage up on the first play..and had tons of time to run another 7 or 8 plays. UW coaching was wacky too. The plays they called when they got stuffed on goal line were head scratches. Then they went into prevent and just let Oregon March downfield with little resistance. Fortunately Hole kicker choked..mbut had he not and Oregon won in OT, I think DeBour would certainly be in the spotlight...in a not so good way. Awesome game...two really good teams.

But it doesn't mean it's a good idea

Justy spitballing here...but since uo is promoting nix for Heisman, they go for those kind of plays to show his 'greatness'. Hits them and it ups his HT stock....Sort of backfired though didn't it1
