Read this clown’s statements to the Oregon Legislature this past week:
“I think it would be unfortunate to have two R1 universities in the state of Oregon coming in front of the committee saying we are in terrible financial distress because a media rights deal was inadequate to support our athletic programs,” he said.
What a selfish, disingenuous d*ck. Why even say that. Sorry, too focking bad for OSU. Well, state, you only have one problem instead of two so thank us for not making UO a problem for you. Arrogant Fock.

Arrogant Fock. ...except that they were offered a deal that would work, but decided to walk away from it for approximately the same money with way more travel and expense. Not only is his statement crap, but their decision did damage OSU in the process and is stupid as sh*t for a bunch of reasons. No, they hurt everyone, including themselves, in this ignorant, desperate grab at "legitimacy". The dux are who we thought they were. Spoiled rotten, front running a$$wipes that are an embarrassment to the whole state. |

I read the other day that OSU is softening on the idea of keeping the CW alive. Screw that. I think I wouldn’t even watch it. FtD forever.

Oregon needs Oregon State a helluva a lot less than we need them. Stupid to say otherwise. Not playing Oregon just to not play them is cutting off your nose to spite your face. You do not accomplish anything by not playing Oregon other than basically burning a pile of money that Oregon State is going to probably desperately need soon. Yeah, but they won't get their share of that giant pile of money! *Diabolical laugh* Of course the couple of million that the Civil War generates every year for each team means a helluva a lot less to Oregon. Stupid thinking. Swallow your emotion and act rationally. Don't like those spoiled children in Eugene? Schedule 'em and crush them. You win on the scoreboard, not by acting scared. Of course Sholz is a D-bag: that's what his job title (President of TSDTR) means. Our president, on the other hand, is a class act, and is clearly not a pushover, either. She responded quite clearly (and accurately), "It’s not true that the Pac-12 was falling apart and it was so unstable that you had to head for the exits. The Pac-12 falls apart if you leave. You may choose not to leave and therefore hold the conference together." Called him out in all his d-bag weaselness. I really like her. |

Oregon will continue to recruit well; we won’t. The little problem with your call to play the Ducks is that we will probably be humiliated, like back in 08 or 09. If we aren’t on equal footing, there is no reason to continue the charade. Let Oregon go. They will have won the battle that counted the most. If we end up in the Big 12, maybe. If you want the Civil War, put us in the B1G. |

irimi is right. Put us in a G5 conference, and, over a few years, our recruiting will fall off to that level, while Oregon will continue to buy 5 stars. Eventually, it would become like Navy's annual exercise in futility against Notre Dame.
Continuing to play them for a payday would seem like groveling for a seat at the beggars' table. Let them go, and say f#*^ you on their way out the door.
