Don't care about the name, its meaningless now. Keep the assets though. The assets get distributed among all 12 teams if the league dissolves. That’s why you try the reverse merger. Yeah I know but does the name matter? Can't a conference change it's name? |

Forget media markets. People are stupid if they think Wazzu only appeals to people in Spokane and Pullman, just as most OSU alums don't live in Corvallis. We're in Seattle, Portland, or some silly little small town, but we still turn on the TV to watch our teams play.
Go after schools with major enrollments. Get 4 from California where several schools have 30+ thousand enrolled. Fill in with a couple from Nevada to replace the Arizona schools. Branch out into Texas, if we can. See if Gonzaga wants in. Boise State would be a nice get.

The Pac also has instant name recognition the MWC could only dream about. The Pac-13 sounds just fine to me. We can't just "go grab a bunch of MWC schools." There are huge penalties for early exit. And the MWC schools seem pretty darn happy with their conference and have stuck together. Screw ESPN. The future is what we make it.Shoot the messenger if you will, even though the message makes 100% good sense and is probably exactly what we and the Cougs will end up doing. |

reverse merge....keep the PAC name. It's more of an asset than MWC is... Don't care about the name, its meaningless now. Keep the assets though. The PAC is a separate entity. We cannot keep the assets if we merge with the MWC. IF we maintain the PAC and add the MWC we keep everything. |

It’s time to press Apple HARD, get a commitment for 15ish+ a team to bring in the entire MWC, make sure the escalators are in place… and get 3 million + subscribers and make everyone who left regret leaving. Along the way. add the University of British Columbia (metro area 2.5 million) to help with those subscriptions, and think hard about a school from Mexico for.even more subscription power. At this stage, offer the entire MWC to join the PAC and the votes to disband will be there, if 2 or 3 waver on tripling or quadrupling their media money immediately, that’s their problem. IF we get the MWC as a whole AND a good media deal, we can likely poach some AAC individual schools if wanted. Apple is stupid if they’d offer us $15 million per school, when the majority of the schools that they are getting currently receive $4-6 million. That would be a bad business decision on their part. Fricken offer $15 dollars a team, I don't care. The money is in beating the minimum subscription level. There are going to be more subscribers than a lot (apparently) of people think. Apple either wants to be in football or not. I'm pretty sure Apple was planning on losing money for a year or two at least. They spend billions a year on R&D that hasn't made them a cent. This is their last best opportunity to get into streaming football for a while. People are hung up on media markets. For every person that attends a Beaver game there's probably another 5-10+ worldwide that would subscribe to games on TV. Do that with 14 teams, that's a lot of subscribers. They had it figured that Apple would payout well over 300 million to the conference with just 1.7 million subscribers. 14 teams, that and more is still well doable. |

It's true the Pac name carries more weight than the MW......but, and this is a huge BUT, all the teams that made the Pac name carry weight are gone. So yea, keep the name, but it's still the MW in substance. I'm coming to terms that we are essentially being relegated to the MW......we can spin it any way we like.....geography, land grant, common sense, etc.....bottom line is its a net negative for our AD......I'm gonna stew on that some more.....I'll let my wife talk about the cool road trips we may have in the future.. 😁 |

Irimi mentioned lawyers so yeah I guess they will look for any hole to take more from the left overs. |
