Oregon-Oregon State should be last week of the regular season. Army-Navy, Clemson-South Carolina, Florida-Florida State, Georgia-Georgia Tech, and Kentucky-Louisville all do it. If we're big time, we keep doing it, end of the season like nothing's changed. You're forgetting OSU isn't the deciding factor. Oregon will have a B10 schedule. Game 1 could be conference game for example. Ucks are a "minority" voice in their new home. There is no way the B10 will guarantee them a secure date for a NC game. Yep. UO's late November rivalry game will be with UW. Iowa State and Iowa play in early September. No reason we and the Ducks can't as well.

The conferences are required to schedule around nonconference games. That is to say that the conferences only get to schedule on weekends that there are not already nonconference games. In the B10 the Saturday after Thanksgiving is "rivalry weekend". Set rivals all play that weekend. I think there are 4 teams that don't have set "rivals" and swap playing each other. But, it's been a conference game weekend. My guess is UW vs Oregon will be held then. And, I'm 90% sure OSU isn't likely to want to play a NC game in week 10 or 11. It's both Friday and Saturday. Four of the schools rotate. Nothing would stop Oregon State from playing Oregon that weekend or the weekend before.

Just as we won't want to play UO and WSU on successive weekend when they become our conference rivalry game. Rivalry games in the MWC are not always the final weekend, however. Wyoming and CSU, the league's longest historical rivalry, don't always conclude the season against each other.

Colorado State and Wyoming concluded the regular season against one another from 2007-2011. And those are the only years that that has been true this millennium.
