I can't believe that the Pac? or Oregon State and haven't come out and done some kind of messaging today. Not sure what they would say but silence and letting folks twist in the wind is certainly not going to help things. I would have expected them to hire a crisis managment firm or PR firm to start some messaging to hold what's left together.

I see complete radio silence at this point as a good thing, as too much talking could sabotage a deal...whether purposefully or by accident

I agree OSU needs to (over)communicate to fans, athletes, recruits and future recruits conceptually where OSU is aggressively looking for a path forward. Do not have to reveal all of the conversations to the public. However, Barnes has some egg on his face by making the statement he made late last week stating the conference was near a deal and all things look great for conference to stay together. Barnes was not responsible for a bad media deal and schools fleeing to other conferences. But putting faith on other schools and conference when evidence showed the media deal may be subpar and rumors flying schools were in talks (particularly after Colorado left days before the collapse).
Barnes has to build trust and confidence that OSU is in good hands on trying to find the school's path forward.

Maybe there's nothing they can say officially right now. And giving regular updates on every e-mail and phone call or Zoom meeting is not going to happen, nor should it. They're probably too busy to do so even if they wanted to.

Just one statement beyond just saying he is "furious" and the other traitor a-hole schools put our players in harms way. Let's drop the victim mentality and show a mindset of grit and determination. That will bide time to delay uncertainty and thoughts of people moving away from OSU.

So I guess Barnes should have put out a statement that the disintegration of the conference sucks and we are all doomed. He already said something about being upset over the other schools leaving at the last minute.
OSU's president put out a statement that OSU is exploring all options right now and that is about all that she could say.
What more do people want?

Yeah, that's it - Appease the fans rather than work on planning the future!
This whole thing fell apart on Friday, they've released basically the same statement all along, and what was on it probably won't change until there is an actual plan in place.
Pretty sure there have been statements made in the last 4 days as well, but "we're s%#tting ourselves and frantically trying to cut deals" probably is not a good look.
If they were to actually make a deal today, it'd probably be a horrible deal. I'm sticking with their Pac 12 will make the best deal possible for its members mantra, it probably won't change until they have an actual deal.

Immediate declaration of war on Eugene seems popular for reasons.

Barnes already spoke too soon on the conference getting a deal done. He's going to be careful here.
The more I read, the more I think the reality is we are going to combine with the MWC in some way, shape, or form. I also think Barnes is desperately trying to get the Big 12 to take us.....anything is possible, right? But I think that ship has sailed.

Whatever it is, it hasn’t seemed to affect recruiting. Maybe kids are more patient than old fans.

No way to Stanford and Cal join us and Wazzu in associating with the MWC. So that leaves two options.
1. We get 6-8 teams to leave the MWC and join us in a reconstituted Pac. We break up another conference, just as was done to us.
2. We do a full merge with the MWC, 13 teams, all in, fight against the man.
I like # 2.
