Who is to blame? The conference presidents for hiring Larry Scott and not doing anything about it as he ran the conference into the ground. There will be long feature articles and possibly even books written about the demise of the once proud Pac-12.

Commissioner Hansen had his head in the sand while the whole landscape was changing. Between him ,Scott and greed the greatest conference of all time is dead. Most national championships by far, more Olympic medals.

As far as I know, it's not over yet. Like y'all have the initiative process. You can fix whatever the University of Oregon does. Blow it up!

Not surprised the ducks went big 10. Their new president is from the Midwest and in so many words a while ago he said he was open to the big 10.

I have seen nothing official. It is all still Oregon and Washington's lean is to leave. I have not heard of official invites or official acceptances.

Big 20 with WSU and OSU joining up. would this be better than a merger with the MWC? A new conference with a new name or a name that is a combination of Pac and Mountain West (Pac West)? B20 we are still P5 with P5 money. And lots of travel and travel expense. Pac-West conference...not the prestige at least early on and less money, but we stay in the west. I guess it would depend on the media deal for a Pac-West conference...

I think the B10 has an emergency meeting today...that is likely where it will be decided. Be nice if PK would take the duck AD by the short hairs and tell him to stay in the Pac...but money money money is the real topic

They don't even blow their noses down there without his approval.

I know it's mostly about the money but wouldn't it be easier to get into the football playoffs from a 12 team pac 12 rather than an 18 team league elsewhere?

There will be long feature articles and possibly even books written about the demise of the once proud Pac-12. Scott negotiated too long of a deal and spent too much on extravagance, but a lot of our current mess can be laid at the feet of the USC President and economic timing. Kliavkoff got here in July, in August he was publicly working on expansion because Big 12 schools were inquiring about getting in after Texas and Oklahoma announced their moves. He set up an exploration committee and USC's Prez killed expansion in the first 15 minutes, apparently while secretly negotiating a move to USC. If ESPN/Disney weren't in trouble and other media ops not in a tight position we'd still be in a good position. A year earlier and this probably wouldn't have happened.

Scott also passed on selling the network about 4 years ago to ESPN and getting around $30 million per school. A lot of parties to blame for this mess. I also think uo wanted to stay because of an easier path to CFP, but when Arizona started talking to the Big 12, they changed their tune as dominoes were falling.

As much as I didn't want to believe what this guy was saying all along, he ended up being right. Go back through his tweets and he was spot on. Maybe he just got lucky, but I'm hoping he actually knows what he's talking about now.
I'd expect they look into this, only makes sense... don't know if it pencils out but Oregon State to the Big-12 is about the only way this gets resolves with us having a shot at remaining relevant. I have my fingers crossed. This would allow us to retain Smith and continue the momentum being built. I hope Utah/ASU/OSU/WSU are a united front in working for this to be completed.
Really hate the state of college football right now.

We still need to start building an athletic endowment fund.
