Our budget is going to have to get drastically axed. Just brutal. Could OSU end up having to cut (a) program(s) entirely in the next few years? I would say it's inevitable.

Seems likely. This has such huge financial implications. The only good news is at least we weren't the Cougs - who financed a ton of construction projects during the Leach years and now have to pay for all of that without the benefit of TV money.

Yeah - thank the deity all the recent work in Reser was paid for upfront in cash from donations and there's zero payments on any bonds for that project. Right...?

Nope......big bond debt. $68 million.

The question of how we service those bonds will be a hot topic soon enough.
Wonder if phil will offer us a severance package

It's still less than the Cougs financed - they were facing big cuts as it was.

It's likely a men's program to remain Title IX compliant whether or not a women's program gets cut as well. Baseball (No way) Soccer (Most likely) Wrestling (Endowment keeps it afloat) Golf (Next up) Rowing (I'm not familiar, someone help me out here)

Right now media has projected viewership to make payments in the super conferences. What happens at the end of the contract and actuall numbers are known. Schools who are perennially in the lower part of these conferences don't draw viewers, but they are getting the same money as Ohio States and Alabama. ESPN comes along and says we aren't making the money we projected so we have to offer a new contract for less money. Less money divided by less teams leaves the elite with the same amount of money.
Do the cellar dwellers get cut lose as the conferences are re-aligned again? Happens to TV programs all the time when viewership goes down.

A sad set of dominoes falling. All started last summer with U$C/UCLA, then Col, now the others high tailing it to the exits. It will be interesting to see when/where it all fell apart & who is to blame.

Gordon Gekko move
