Mine freezes as well. I keep getting "Lais" and "Laif" confused. With Dane Lais expressing his desire to sign following his selection, and Wilson 'gone'... ...it appears that James DeCremer, Eric Segura, and Laif Palmer (if he doesn't sign) are the most likely candidates to be the traditional Beaver Impact Freshman Pitcher in 2024. Don’t sleep on Bryce Johnson and Spencer Green. Green went in the 19th round to the Dodgers, but I think he’ll come to school. This freshman pitching class is loaded with talent. We have 7 pitchers inside PG’s top 500. That includes Wilson who is assuredly going to sign, but that leaves us with 6 guys in the top 500 unless Palmer or Green sign. For reference, Dane Lais was outside PG’s top 500. Spencer Green, I finally saw some newer tape on him. I can see why he got picked. Electric stuff now, up to maybe 94-95 with a BIG power curve. And Bryce Johnson was one I was a little worried might be picked too. Dude can flat out pitch.
Fortunately, I think the Dodgers are going to have to pay a lot of guys over slot, so we're probably safe on Green.
Palmer with the Rangers may be the same situation. They only had $9.9M to work with, Langford is slotted at $7.7M with and they only picked 1 money saving college senior in the top 10 rounds. Extra sweet is they picked a Duck commit in the 11th, so hopefully they blow all the rest of their money signing him.

Lingering questions on Spencer Green.
1. He was not a part of the "official" 17 man recruiting class announced by the SID. 2. He was never mentioned in the 17 man class individual comments by HC Mitch Canham. 3. I cannot find any reference to him ever signing an LOI with Oregon State. 4. His player profile on three baseball websites shows him "uncommitted" 5. I saw one recruiting note that had him heading to Junior College. Grades maybe? 6. Does anyone have any tangible proof that he is indeed, on his way to Corvallis?
He's very good and would be a nice addition to our '23 class but I worry about false hope on this one.

Perfect game lists him as a commit. That’s what I was going off of. This beat reporter seems to think he’s OSU bound, but he might be going off the same information.

Perfect Game's commit list is helpful but I must tell you, it isn't often complete and is frequently lagging. Example: They are still showing Ty Doucette as committed to the Beavs.
Apparently they have reinstated Green as a commit - they removed him months ago. Maybe there something to that? The other side of the coin here - I have never seen anything saying he was not coming to OSU or that he was heading to a different destination.
Since we are seven months away from seeing a roster, we'll just have to wait until fall ball to see if his name pops up.

Ok, what is the real story? This guy was supposed to be great. Knee surgeries? Now he bails out? WOW!

Ok, what is the real story? This guy was supposed to be great. Knee surgeries? Now he bails out? WOW! I'm guessing it has to do with none of our outfielders being drafted, so the coaching staff told him that he doesn't have a spot in our outfield, especially coming off the major knee injuries.

Timing says a lot. Neither McDowell or Kasper got picked up so far. They may have decided to stay and improve their stock. If that's true we really don't have a spot on the roster for Reed with piles of talent showing up and other piles on the roster.

I'm curious what our infield looks like next year since we likely lose everything but 2nd base. I'm really disappointed to lose Kane, I loved his fielding and offensive game. I think you can pencil in Carraway at either SS or 3rd. Does Krieg play 1st/3rd or keep pitching or both. Does Trosky come back and take one of the infield spots. Does Guerra move from DH to infield. Then there is Peterson and possibly Macias. Not to mention a possible transfer or another impact freshman.
Regardless, this looks like it could be the strongest hitting team we have ever fielded. Maybe not overall average, but slugging pct. should be real high.

Talent and tool wise, neither kasper and Micah are in his class. Reed was projected late 1st, early 2nd guy. Sorry we never got to see it. Good luck to him and his future

Infield? 1st Guerra 2nd Bazz 3rd Carraway SS ? Friends in Las Vegas say Marnell is a stud hitter and very good Catcher.

Infield? 1st Guerra 2nd Bazz 3rd Carraway SS ? Friends in Las Vegas say Martell is a stud hitter and very good Catcher. Trosky can play short. Guerra can play short, as well. Or has it been determined that he is not able to play to play on the left side of the infield at a D1 level? He had those three errors in eight games in the first half of April that seemed to have semi-permanently move him into outfield. Or are they still thinking about kicking Bazz out of the infield? There was a ton of chatter about that last year. But the only three who played second other than Bazzana were Kennel, Macias, and Peterson. A lot still up in the air.
