We better start hitting this guy as it is getting ugly fast. Getting out hit 10 to 2 isn't much fun for anyone.

Our pitching has been an issue, but rest of the team needs to make plays - and that is not happening at this point

Considering that you need to win this game to have a chance to win the tourney or just advance for that matter ...AND considering that the guy Dorman chose to start this game had a >.300 batting average vs opposing batters.Just makes NO sense. Didn't know Larson was that good of a hitter. Maybe he should be our DH. Our course, I don't think most teams pitch their batters.

Host, no host... this team never appeared to be one of the better 16 teams to gain a host from day 1 of the Pac12 season. The 39 wins come from 21 vs a terrible NC schedule. But, if today's performance continues OSU will likely drop significantly in their overall seeding, mid to low #2. Which means their regional matchup becomes significantly more difficult. But, in the truest sense, it's baseball and strange things happen. But, no one who watches the game consistently could ever think this team was Omaha quality without some extreme happenings occurring.
In this particular season being 2nd in the Pac12 means little as there might not be a team that gets to a Super?! I certainly would be shocked if more than one does, and any make it to Omaha.

Had the same thoughts last night watching Stanford against Cal. When the top team in the conference loses a series against a 7th place Big 12 team, you're not a good conference.

But that doesn't change the fact that Dorman made a clearly questionable decision starting a guy in an elimination game who can't keep opposing hitters from batting >.300 against him. Too bad you seem more concerned with syntax than winning...

The Pac12 is full of very talented players, just no elite team this year.

Last years national champion had a losing conference record 14-16, and lessor overall record 37-22 than the Beavers have this year. All you have to do in regular season is put yourself in position to make the postseason field. If you do that and get some mojo going, good things can happen.

I do not think you really want to compare the talent on that NC team to this team and the conference the y each play in. Apples/Oranges... hell their not even both "fruits"!

Let’s go home and rest up for postseason. Too hot down there anyway. Please relocate the tournament to NW next year!

Every game is an elimination game. If you win today, who pitches tomorrow? Then Saturday? Easy to say that you’d start Kmatz today but he is prone to giving up the long ball. Against a slugging team like ASU, I would question that decision. Sellers might’ve been a good choice but he’d be pitching on short rest. So the loss yesterday set this up. We’re in a poor position to get to the final, so how exhausted do you want the pitching staff going into the meaningful tournament? And don’t forget that we are playing in Arizona’s backyard. It all matters. The answer is always obvious when you're sitting at home and not the person actually making the decisions. The people who constantly complain when the team is struggling generally don't come eat crow when the team is doing well or give praise to the coaches when it's due. It's hard to take certain people seriously. You're making good points, but I'm afraid it's in vain. Always interesting that the people who constantly explain that we suck are shocked when we have a bad game.

I think I can agree with most of what you are saying here. This team has not looked like a team bound for Omaha and it has seemed like some lucky bounces would be needed for this team to get there. I do think finishing 2nd in the conference is significant though. Maybe not from a national perspective, but the Pac-12 is the conference that the Beavers are in and the teams that the Beavers will continue to play against (minus UCLA and USC). This feels like a young team that should improve next year. Even if the other teams all improve the same amount, the Beavers should be better than most of them when/if the conference improves next year. I personally feel like the coaching staff has done a good job with this young roster. It should at least be fair to say they've done a better job than most of the other coaching staffs in the conference.

Donkey is having a rough time in Arizona. He is really due to come up with a good hit. This looks to be the time.
