I hated this tournament last year, when we took second. I hate it this year, win or lose. We take second in a 30-game season. Our reward is to fly 1500 miles, play two games in 90-degree weather against teams who are virtually playing at home, and then play the first game as the road team, despite a higher seed. What a load of horse crap. I dislike all league tournaments regardless of sport. You play a league schedule to determine the best team. |

What a load of horse crap. We get to be home against Arizona State. It works out so that the #1 seed gets to be home against the #2 seed. The #2 seed gets to be home against the #3 seed. Basically set up to set up a mammoth #1 v. #2 matchup. Might as well start Oregon State' Revenge Tour '23 off right: Arizona State Game tomorrow is set to be 84 degrees at start, warming up to 90 degrees at about 1:00 p.m. |

My thought process with Bazz on 3rd with nobody out, bunt McDowell for sure. Get the run, take the lead and put more pressure on AZ. Not hard to look at the line up and see who was coming to bat. Rather be up 1 than pitching to Davis or Romero tied. But that is just my thoughts. Which of course would have worked.

It's much worse for the smaller conferences that are typically 1-bid leagues in basketball and baseball. You can dominate your conference, get upset in the tournament and not get to go even though clearly you are the best team from that league. |

I heard of a mens hoops team that won the conference tourney as an underdog...and made it to the elite 8... True....but, by winning our tournament, we didn't knock out uo who won the regular season title. |

Ahhhh... the pre-craft beer days of $5 pitchers (large 64 oz), $0.25 12 oz glasses... where the team beer pitcher trophy was bigger and more important than winning the softball tourney itself! 👍🍻 |

Well I was wrong. You'll win alot of games scoring 12 runs. You won't win many giving up 13. Hitting wasn't the problem. You keep saying that, but I don't think you know what it means. |

Leaving 7 on base the last 3 frames is a hitting problem. That pitcher at the end for Zona had a .327 BA against number. Well....we did also bring 4 runs home in those last 3 frames. Can't bring everyone in all the time. Get a lot of guys on, you're going to leave a lot of guys on. |

It's ridiculous to say that the pitching staff cost us this game. Nope. Arizona didn't win because of a superior pitching staff. They won because they scored one more run than we did. That's all.
If there is ever a time that I want a coach to not look at the game directly ahead of him, it is now. Play for the regionals. Screw this Arizona crap.

Was anybody else surprised by the lack of Beaver HRs in today's game? I was sure we'd get a couple after hitting so many in Corvallis.
