He won the baseball equivalent of the Heisman plus everything else there was to win. If Terry Baker's name is on the Valley Center then Adley's name belongs someplace prominent at Goss.

Put it on the 35 yard line at Reeser next to the x where he kicked off.

Put it on the 35 yard line at Reeser next to the x where he kicked off. Or the 48-yard line, where he recovered his own onside kick.

What is the yard line where he nailed Christian McCafferey?

Or you put his name associated with something where Adley actually excelled.

What is the yard line where he nailed Christian McCafferey? The 37.5 yard-line? The problem is that that tackle was at Stanford Stadium. Rutschman had three tackles in his 11 games at Oregon State. The tackle of McCaffrey was Rutschman's final tackle. Rutschman also tackled Demetris Robertson, rated the #1 receiver in the 2016 recruiting class, a freshman All-American in 2016, and a 2017 preseason Biletnikoff Award Watch List member before getting hurt in the second game of the season and transferring to Georgia. He played in a Sugar and a Peach Bowl before transferring to Auburn in 2021. Auburn finished on a five game losing streak to finish 6-7. Robertson played in the Hula Bowl, and the Seahawks signed him before cutting him without Robertson playing a game. Rutschman also tackled Cory Butler-Byrd. Butler-Byrd was arrested after jumping on a police car and trying to throw a sign through a police station window at the end of July before his 2016 senior season. He was suspended for two games but was reinstated in plenty of time for him to earn his starting spot for the Oregon State game. He finished as the second-leading rusher and returned the lone kickoff that was in bounds. (For some reason--injury?--Garrett Owens tried the last futile onside kick with 1:40 left in the game and kicked it out of bounds.) Butler-Byrd was last playing semi-professional football down in Tucson in 2021. Rutschman tackled Robertson at the 48 and Cory Butler-Byrd at the 38 at Reser.

For timing, you honor him in the first season after he signs the 8 year $300M contract.

Or you put his name associated with something where Adley actually excelled. The powerful point is he excelled in word and deed. He has a good project plan and his outlook is great. Unless i MS'd anything.... He is a Teams player too Stop with your Microsoft guerilla marketing.

Or you put his name associated with something where Adley actually excelled. The dude excelled in multiple sports. Not at OSU. He was on the football roster 1 season, kicker. No FGs, 54 KO, 2 went OB, and 20 went for TBs. Didn't excel by any stretch of even your imagination on the football field! Even the exaggerated tackling of CM is off base. It was a bunched group where CM basically had to stop. Tackle by (3) Beavers. People make it out to be some open field 1-on-1 tackle. Adley excelled at OSU at Goss and that's where his recognition should and will be. FCS

FCS Fewest kickoffs out-of-bounds by team (primary kicker) in the Pac-12: 1. Arizona State (Zane Gonzalez) 0 2. Oregon (Matt Wogan) 1 3. California (Noah Beito) 2 3. Oregon State (Adley Rutschman) 2
Each of the other eight teams in the Pac-12 had more kickoffs travel out of bounds. It should also be noted that one of the two that went out of bounds was Rutschman's first kickoff against Idaho State.
Number of teams in the Pac-12 with kickers with a worse touchback rate than Rutchsman: seven. (Arizona State, Oregon, Stanford, USC, and Washington each had a better touchback rate.)
Fewest kickoff return yards allowed in the Pac-12:
1. Jake Bailey 422 2. Zane Gonzales 493 3. Matt Wogan 513 4. Adley Rutschman 535
Most tackles by a kicker in the Pac-12:
1. Adley Rutschman 3 (on 31 returns) 2. Matt Boermeester 3 (on 39 returns) 3. Erik Powell 3 (on 52 returns)
OREGON STATE 47 - California 44
Rutschman kicked off eight times and put four into the end zone, two for touchbacks. Rutschman's first kickoff was a touchback. Cal went three-and-out. Oregon State drove down to kick a 31-yard field goal to go up 3-0. Rutschman's second kickoff was fumbled by Demetris Robertson at the goal line and returned out to the three with the Bears narrowly avoiding a safety. Cal went five-and-out and punted out to the Oregon State 46. The Beavs drove 46 yards for a touchdown, 10-0 Oregon State. Rutschman's next kickoff into the end zone was not returned. The Beavs went up 17-3 before Garretson threw a pick-six to allow the Bears back to 17-10.
Ryan Nall scored an 80 yard touchdown on the first play of the second half to put Oregon State up 24-10. Rutschman allowed one of his two largest kickoff returns of the year, 39 yards, to the 48, but Rutschman tackled Demetris Robertson himself at the 48. California went four-and-out and punted into the end zone. Oregon State responded by driving 74 yards and kicking a field goal to go up 27-10. Rutschman allowed a return to the 32, and California drove and scored a touchdown, but Nall ran for 62 yards to set up his own five-yard touchdown on the drive following to make it 34-17. Rutschman kicked it into the end zone, and Robertson tried to bring it out but was tackled at the nine by Jalen Moore. California drove 91 yards for a touchdown to pull within 10. Oregon State drove 73 yards for a touchdown to go up 41-24 and then fell apart, allowing 17 points in less than a seven minute span of the fourth quarter.
Washington State 35 - OREGON STATE 31 (1941 Rose Bowl Game)
Adley Rutschman kicked off five times, putting one into the end zone for no touchbacks. Despite kicking one out of bounds, the Cougs averaged taking over at their own 18 after Rutschman kickoffs. Nall ran for an 89-yard touchdown (third-longest in Beaver history) with 8:41 left in the first quarter. Rutschman kicked into the end zone. Robert Taylor foolishly brought it out and Drew Kell tackled Taylor at the 18. Wazzu went eight-and-out and punted down to the 10. Oregon State responded by driving 90 yards in eight plays for a 14-0 lead with 2:08 left in the first. Rutschman kicked off, and Jalen Moore was able to tackle Taylor at the six. The Cougs converted two consecutive third downs but could not convert the third and punted down to the seven. The Beavs went four-and-out and punted. Four plays later, Moore forced a fumble at the Oregon State 25, and Devin Chappell came up with it. After converting two third downs, Marcus McMaryion hit Seth Collins for a 46-yard touchdown, 21-0 Beavs with 6:58 left in the first half. Rutschman kicked down to the 10, and Taylor returned it to the 24. Wazzu drove 76 yards for a touchdown, but Hughes-Murray blocked the extra point, 21-6 Beavs with 4:33 left in the half. Oregon State took the last 4:33 and drove down to the 14 before kicking a field goal with no time left, 24-6 at halftime.
Rutschman kicked off down to the one, and Taylor returned it to the 24. The Cougs went four-and-out (fake punt?), but the Beavs lost yardage and punted it into the end zone. Luke Falk hit Jamal Morrow for a 66-yard touchdown with 10:36 left in the third quarter and converted the two-point conversion to pull within 10. Oregon State went three-and-out and punted. Falk hit Gabe marks for 37 yards and a second touchdown, 24-21. Three-and-out, and Falk hit Marks for a 28-yard touchdown with 3:26 left in the third quarter, 21 points in 7:10 of game time. The teams traded punts until Kalbe Fossum fumbled down to the Wazzu three, where Andre Bodden recovered. Nall ran it in for a touchdown and 31-28 lead. Rutschman kicked it out of bounds (his other kickoff out-of-bounds), but Colton Teglovic was called for a personal foul, which set the Cougs back to the 20. Seven plays later, it was 35-31 Wazzu. The Beavs drove down to the Coug 33 and 34 on the next two drives, but a false start killed one drive and Nall was stopped for no gain on fourth-and-one at the 34 with 3:53 left. Ugwoegbu looked like he had come up with a big stop on second-and-eight but was called for targeting and ejected. Wazzu was able to take off all but four seconds of the clock. And Oregon State's final hook-and-lateral play only netted 24 of the necessary 84 yards.
UCLA 38 - Oregon State 24
Rutschman's first kickoff pinned UCLA at the 15. The Bruins worked it out to the 35 before Devin Chappell forced a fumble that Manase Hungalu recovered and returned down to the UCLA four. Artavis Pierce rushed twice for the four yards, touchdown, and 7-0 lead. For whatever reason, GAG had Choukair kickoff, and the Bruins started at the 30. UCLA drove 70 yards in seven plays, 48 yards coming on one pass down to the Oregon State 25, 7-7. The teams traded punts until Villamin fumbled at the Beav 43 and then committed a personal foul after UCLA's recovery at the Oregon State 45. The Bruins went the 30 yards in six plays. Oregon State went three-and-out, and UCLA blocked the punt and returned it for a touchdown, 21-7. Nick Porebski was able to pin the Bruins at their own six. The defense allowed UCLA to convert one third down but not the second, and Rahmel Dockery returned the subsequent punt down tot he 16. Pierce caught a 12-yard pass from McMaryion and then scored from three yards out to pull within seven at 21-14. Rutschman kicked it into the end zone for a touchback. Punt, fumble, punt, and then UCLA drove down and kicked a 49-yard field goal with nine seconds left, 24-14 at the half.
The second half began with three consecutive punts before Chappell forced a fumble, and Hungalu recovered and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown, 24-21. Rutschman kicked it into the end zone, and Adams foolishly tried to return it out, only getting to the 14. Moore was ejected for targeting, which helped the Bruins drive 86 yards on six plays to go back up 31-21. The Beavs drove 71 yards to set up a 20-yard field goal, 31-24. Rutschman kicked it into the end zone, and Adams correctly brought it out, returning it to the 39. UCLA drove down to the one before Hungalu, who was all over the place picked it off and returned it 37 yards. The teams traded punts until McMaryion threw a pick-six with 2:14 left, 38-24. The Beavs drove into Bruin territory, but McMaryion was sacked on fourth-and-five with 1:21 left to ice it.
Rutschman was an above average kicker in the Pac-12. He is a better catcher.

I don’t like baseballsssss, but the justification for Adley being a football star is stupid. He played one year and kicked off a few times.
He may have turned into an excellent kicker, but he didn’t play long enough and was not our regular FG kicker.
Focus should be on how good of a baseball player that he is. Wilky’s novel length post does not prove he was a legendary kicker.
