Not sure if it means anything but we have the highest ELO ranking in the conference. Just ahead of Oregon and Stanford. Thank you Mr. Blue Sky. But what the f%#* does ELO have to do with anything. Don’t bring me down, you evil woman. I got this strange magic that I can’t get out of my head. I think I’m going to get to on my telephone line, call over the world and shine a little love. Bravissimo!!!

Nothing much. It's a better predictor of a matchup than RPI but that's about it. It's pretty much just SOS + Result

ELO, the band whose music aged as well as the comments on this board about Forrester's inability to get a clutch hit. Hard to believe they were more popular than Queen in the mid to late 70's.

Hey Nuke, sorry I'm being nosy. Did you understand that Judge's comment was regarding a band called Electric Light Orchestra?

Hey Nuke, sorry I'm being nosy. Did you understand that Judge's comment was regarding a band called Electric Light Orchestra? Whoosh! I got it but there was already comments praising his clever listing of hits so I stuck to the question he asked. It was a bit OUT OF THE BLUE but with Judge what DO YA do you just HOLD ON TIGHT for a SHOWDOWN or accept THE STRANGE MAGIC but DONT WALK AWAY or his wit will put you in a state of CONFUSION and your response will TURN TO STONE. Sometimes it's best to FACE THE MUSIC, save some TIME and catch THE TRAIN TO LONDON or just head to XANADU. A DISCOVERY or even a SECRET MESSAGE waiting for us all.

Mr. Blue Sky is still in movies and shows all the time. Hell it was in Super Mario which is still in theaters. Don't bring me down was in Dont Look up and a Ted lasso episode. I think acouple were in American Hustle. That's just off memory. Guardians of the Galaxy had it in the first 2 movies I think.

FWIW Beavs up to #11 in Massey Rankings. Number four in "defense," too behind Tennessee, Wake, and Vandy.

I believe RPI takes into account home/away in the wins and losses but how does it measure volume of each? For example, several SEC teams and tsdtr that have played 10-12 games away from home all year. Beavs are 22 home and 22 away/neutral. tsdtr is 33 home (including their first 15 of the season) and 11 away, Tennessee is 33 home and 12 away/neutral and are 2-10 in those games Is there a way to better balance this out or is RPI already doing the job even when there is such disparity in away games played? Go Beavs!

I think home wins are x0.7 and road wins are x1.3. Road losses x0.7 and home losses x1.3.

Go Beavs! As much as RPI is mentioned on here it is not the only, not key in some cases, factor in post season selections. The 33 at-large bids have a multitude of inputs that are considered. Each committee member most likely has their biases, but they weigh many factors besides RPI. The P5 conferences obviously have the biggest advantage and dominate the at-large bids (30 of the overall 64 teams in 2022, meaning 25 at-large bids if the 33). But, conference record, conference tournament finish, Q1/Q2 wins, head to head vs other teams being considered, NC SOS, and how a team has done over the last part of the season. I'm also guessing key injuries that come late become a factor, but I'd guess mainly in the seeding. In most seasons it has basically come done to a 6th Pac12 team vs an 8th or 9th SEC or ACC team. Every so often the B10 pops up with 5 invites. But, overall the P5 conferences make up over half the field.
