Oregon State beat Oregon, and Minnesota beat Purdue today. The two games combined are worth about six spots in RPI.

up one spot after killing the zags Glad we didn't go down, which is kind of what I would've expected.....maybe a previous zags opponent won or something

Predicted outcomes for many if OSU's previous opponents isn't good. But, win Pac12 series and you can counter that.

up one spot after killing the zags Glad we didn't go down, which is kind of what I would've expected.....maybe a previous zags opponent won or something Gonzaga is good enough that Oregon State's RPI still went up with the win but a tiny amount. The Zags would have destroyed the Beavs' RPI with a win but help a little with a loss. The big movers around Oregon State are Loyola-Marymount, Michigan State, and Ole Miss. 12-17 UNLV upset Lyola-Marymount in Los Angeles twice, Michigan State edged Notre Dame 7-6 at Notre Dame in 11 innings, and 17-16 Memphis upset Ole Miss in Oxford. Those three games are why Oregon State rose a spot, nothing really to do with the Gonzaga win, other than avoiding a say five-spot drop or so that would have accompanied a loss to Gonzaga. For perspective, there are three opponents' games today: Lehigh @ Coppin State, San Francisco @ Oregon, and Wazzu @ Seattle. Each of those three games has more impact than Oregon State's win over Gonzaga last night for RPI purposes. You root for Oregon, Coppin State, and Wazzu (in that order for RPI purposes). If those three go 3-0, Oregon State probably moves up into 53rd. If those three go 2-1, Oregon State probably stands pat. If those three go 1-2, Oregon State probably falls to 55th. If those three go 0-3, Oregon State probably falls to 56th.

Oregon State could conceivably pass Georgia with a Cal Poly, Wazzu (unlikely), and Nevada win. Short of that, the Beavs probably stand pat into tomorrow.

Sun Devils and Huskies had their rubber match rained out today. ASU plays @ Arizona in a midweek game Wednesday. They're ranked #23, are 11-3 in conference, 17-3 home record, and have an RPI of 35. This road trip is huge and challenging........ "I'm excited and can't wait."

Nevada won, but it was a less important game than the first two. So, Oregon State wound up getting passed by North Carolina back into 40th.

1/2 game out of tie for third. 2 1/2 games behind Stanford. Arizona State sits on top three games up on Oregon State with a three-game series against Oregon State coming up. If Oregon State sweeps Arizona State, the two are effectively tied. The other big series at the top of the conference is UCLA @ USC. The Beavs pass the Bruins or Trojans with a series win in Phoenix and could pass both with a series sweep (assuming that the Bruins or Trojans do not sweep the other). Stanford plays Washington at Sunken Diamond. Oregon heads down to Berkeley. Utah heads down to Tucson in the Pac-12 Pillow Fight of the Eid al-Fitr Weekend. Wazzu plays Santa Clara on the Palouse.

despite losing series vs scum devils we are up to 36 (+4) from last week I think we probly needed this series......along with the rest, to host. If we finish strong we could likely be be a 2 somewhere. Nice thing is we have the pitching depth to run a regional.....still feels like we let this series slip away dammit!

The pitching depth that just gave up 33 runs in 3 games. Not so sure about that.

I watched the series.....and even with the horrible camera work, I could see that our pitching got smoked.....but, it's one series. We go into a regional hot, we have the dude to make noise.
