Well that answers a couple of questions. speakthetruth,
Yes it does.
However it possibly does not answer several others.
Why was she playing all this time hurt? Did she choose to use up a whole year of eligibility that she could have had left, in order to play while she was so injured that she was a "shadow" of her former self?
This is so similar to me of the Taylor Jones situation.
Something is just not right with this program and it is not the players.
I believe something has "gone off the tracks" in the Coaching, training, medical, etc. aspects of this program.
Sorry, I can not come up with the facts and figures to back up my thoughts however I am sure several others who contribute to this site regularly will have pro and con contributions to make.
Talia is an outstanding person and athlete. Hopefully she will fully recover and come back strong next year with a Coaching Staff that is worthy of her loyalty and commitment.
Go Beavs!
"Sorry, I can not come up with the facts and figures to back up my thoughts however..." Since you acknowledge your conclusion is 100% speculation I'd say it says more about you than about Talia or the coaching staff.

Or maybe, basketball is a physical game, and there are all SORTS of lingering issues a player could be playing with, anything from abdominal problems, turf toe, knee tendinitis, that if they are very competitive, aren't enough to keep them out but are certainly enough to cause pain and a degradation of performance. Sometimes you get beat, sometimes there are better players. I know the human mind loves to create conspiracies, but sometimes the simple solutions are the best ones. I'd only add that players are complex human beings, not chess pieces or integers in a quadratic equation.

The unsubstantiated crap you two are continue to spout is getting old. Never anything new, valuable, nor backed up by actual facts. I just have one thing to say about the treatment Talia has been given. If it was so bad why is she choosing to stay with the team? believeinthebeavs ,
Thank you for your response.
I offer as factual information the win/lose record of the team for the past few years contrasted to the several years prior.
Also, I would add if "the treatment" for players has been so good, why have so many of our best players over the past two years chosen to leave the team?
Perhaps the upcoming transfer portal will give us additional factual information.
Yes the win loss record is a fact but you are so set on it being Rueck's fault and refuse to even acknowledge there have been other things going on. Covid and the lack of ability to travel and the portal are two obvious changes. Missing games is another, one year we only had a game or two in the entire month of December. Those are the games used to prepare for the conference games. Losing two coaches and another important staff member could play a role as well. As for the transfers, I've already given possible reasons for them to leave. Sasha left to be closer to home for a medical reason that forced her to leave the game completely. Savannah left to get more playing time and because her mom took exception to Rueck saying her shooting is a work in progress, which is accurate. Aleah was drafted into the wnba and while she didn't make it I can't fault her for the attempt. Taya graduated and went to play on a team her friend is on staff. Greta went closer to home. Kennedy didn't like playing the 5 even though that is where the team needed her. Taylor is playing closer to home, she is the only one to say anything negative about the program. There are a lot of teams that lost players to the portal, well over 1000 each year.

A knee injury certainly explains her FG percentages.

Thanks for your well stated response.
I do believe that many of the factors that you listed would be the same for all teams (Covid, Portal, missing games).
From my point of view (which you have been less than complimentary about! (grin)) with the exception of Sasha all of the players you named choose to play somewhere else rather than continue to play for the Beavers when they still had the opportunity to do so.
That coupled with the recent win/loss records is a very damning statement about the condition the OSU WBB is currently in.
As I stated in a previous post, Gonzaga WBB program which is similar in many ways to the Beavs, has had, I believe, zero portal transfers out .
Go Beavs!
P.S. If my information is correct, already this year a player on the team that could play I believe two more years (Jelena) for the Beavers is choosing not to do so. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Noelle could play yet another year for the Beavers and is choosing not to do so?

Noelle has another year, but has stated that she is done. Jelena has two more years, but has not yet made a decision on returning.

How many of us have been a D1 College Basketball player? The season lasts (on a good year (July-April)... 10 months of workouts, practices, games, injuries, film, playbook learning, blood, sweat and tears.
I honestly suggest some of you take a break from grinding on why a 5 year master's degree graduate (Noelle) and away from home completed 4 years of college (Jelena) have chosen to move on with their lives. I know Jelena is possibly "undecided".
Can we just for a minute be thankful for what we have? Be gracious about how much effort the players have put into this team?
GO BEAVS!

TvO is injured and stated she will be back next season. That's it. That's all.
TvO has credibility as she has expressed her commitment to the program multiple times.
What else does anyone need to know?
Move on.

Sorry, someone appears to have an axe to grind in a public forum with the coach so he can discourage any new recruits from coming here. Makes you wonder...

Noelle had been in college for 5 years and has her graduate degree, I would have to believe that she wants to get on with her life. She is not choosing to play elsewhere. Jelena has 4 years of college and will be getting her degree if she hasn't already. I sincerely doubt she is going to transfer to another school in the US. Heaven forbid they want to get on with the rest of their lives. As for the rest of the transfers, yes they could have stayed but decided to play closer to home where their families could watch them and even more importantly visit with them.

Knew she was battling something almost the whole year. Not fun to deal with injuries, but she a gritty, tough young lady that will come back stronger than before. Best wishes in TVO’s recovery, can’t wait to see her back on the court 💯 healthy!! Go Beavs
