We’re definitely improving, but these three point losses aren’t helping the resume.
Keep the roster intact, improve in the offseason, add a piece or two from the portal, and things should finally start looking up.
I wonder if Betts will enter the portal. I know it’s Stanford, but she’s probably not used to sitting on the bench much. She’s very productive on a per-minute basis. A Beers-Betts-Gardiner frontcourt would be a lot of talent, but I love Beers and Gardiner as the future.
It’s crazy how much talent/post depth Stanford has on their bench, but Brink is too talented to not have on the floor.

Beavers lost, period. Moral victories are worthless. "Close" only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. No one 10 or even 5 years from now will remember that this game was a 3-point loss that OSU woulda, coulda, shouda...They are NOT making the tournament. 1. I never used the term “moral victory”. 2. I’m just a fan and I watch sports for entertainment. This evening’s game was highly entertaining and engaging. Sorry that it was apparently a waste of time to you. Maybe you should only watch replays of wins? 3. You’ll feel better in the morning. Judge, You seem more fully vested than entertainment, just an observation. Did Duke call you out using "moral victory" . I did not see you using it. I think he is just looking at the math at this point and it is going to be a tough road.

Sparty, where were you after we took down your Ducks? No comments after that one, but you’ve been so active in this thread.

We need to worry about our own in the off season than stealing a player from Stanford. Biggest enemy right now is sitting at home and watching others at the big dance in March. That literally is not going to sit to well.

No where to be found here. You guys played Colorado tough though. I saw your comments on the Bruins last night as Bruinswbb. Refs did not cost you that game btw.

You assume Betts is going to be knocking on the door when there many other better choices out there.
Assuming she would leave Stanford.
It was a silly statement you made on Betts and you know it.

We laid an egg with the Washington schools, to little to late, I've said before losing Times for half this season spelled doom for this squad. Injuries have hurt lots of teams this year. WSU KEEPS HANGING IN. this league is really tough this year expect alot of close games just ask Arizona and UCLA. We should have beat both Arizona and Stanford on the road that's a great testimony for the future. We need a miss lightening in the back court and we will get back to the tourney and deep. That's what we lack. Watching the SEC schools there is tons of speed in those teams. We should find a gem out of the south to help us.

Spot on about a guard and you are right about SEC and finding a guard there. It is certainly not a Lauren Betts type player like some are thinking. But to each his own i guess.

It was a silly statement you made on Betts and you know it. Where did I say she would be knocking on the door? I think the chances she leaves Stanford are slim (she’s probably smart enough to know she’s playing behind one of the better bigs in the country and with stiff competition to back her up), but I also recall her showing zero interest in OSU (didn’t make her top-9). She is good friends with Timea and, especially, Raegan, plus as a slower big she’d have probably be a decent fit here. She would also have pretty much her choice of schools. Plus her younger sister is very, very good.

beaverwbb fan: you understand the game too well, and know the OSU team too well, to be exchanging barbs with a board simpleton. Leave sparty and his sophomoric digs alone. He's not in your league when it comes to understanding the game. GO BEAVS!!!

Well, there was some fun exchanges there, so, moving on, stats below: I noticed , even with almost 4k folks in the stands, it was fairly quiet, until things got really tense in the 4th, we did not hear from their fans. Someone commented it was a poor turn out for a top 5 team, but the lack of support from the ones there was more of an issue for me. It looks like a lot of white / grey heads in the stands , similar to us ( myself included), few students. osubeavers.com/sports/womens-basketball/stats/2022-23/stanford/boxscore/19767

I was at the UConn game a few years back and that was a good atmospheres, but not intimidating- and UConn did win.

The Beav's are still trying to figure out how to play together. Defense/switches is still a work in progress. And where/how to get Timea into the offense? They are still putting it all together. The anticipation is whether they will do it in time to make the Tournament? No chance at tourney, that ship has sailed at Furd. Doubtful of NIT also, losing record, no one will pay to go watch a team that loses more than wins. Maybe in a couple years.

Playing in the #2 NET conference helps a lot come tourney selections.
