In regards to contract extensions I believe future extensions throughout college play should have a clause that reads something to the effect that here is your 3 year extension but for every year on out you have a less than 500 league record one year is taken off the extension. Propose that, and you'll never sign a decent coach. No agent would ever agree to that. |

Now do Beaver MBB from 1990 thru 2013. You'd think our MBB was some great juggernaut and WT had run it into the ground. People have selective amnesia. The truth is Jimmy inherited Ralph's program and all the capital he'd built, and it was impressive. Thru the 1990's, that capital was spent. Our MBB has been in a downward spiral since 1991 and it continues. The other Pac12 programs have built their MBB programs from the inside out. OSU hasn't done much. Look at Gill. Look at coaches salaries when they were hired. Look at our current NIL program: nothing. Well I don't have time to go all the way back but here is the rating under Craig Robinson . 08-09. 310 of 345 09-10. 328 of 345 10-11 155 of 345 11-12. 10 of 344 12-13. 61 of 347 13-14. 57 of 351 So yes it's possible to have an effective offense, |

It's time to face reality. The OSU MBB job is low to mid level money, plays in the relic know as Gill and the coach has to survive in the Pac12 with 3 star recruits. That's a big ask of any coach. Fix the program from the inside out and we'll attract a coach who will have better results.

Change is needed, but don't mess with Gill. It's a glorious historic treasure, right-sized for the program and the fans, good for another 100 years of highs and lows. It serves multiple sports well.

Gill has nothing to do with the state of our program. Aside from Gill, I specifically wonder how our basketball Locker rooms compare with those of other Pac 12 schools. Seems to me what recruits would take notice of would be more of the personal comforts than Gill itself... lockers, TVs, therapy pools, etc. |

What part of the WT guaranteed contract don't you understand? I didn't say anything about his contract. We can complain about bad performance and disagree with your weird cheerleading of a coach that isn't good. He has schematic issues that never go away, sometimes the talent is better and it's more hidden. |

I was hoping with the change in coaching staff this year that there might be some improvement in the offense. So far it's been the same issues as previous years. It's still early for most of the players and coaches so maybe we'll see some improvement next year. Assuming that Tinkle isn't let go after this season. |

No. Tinkle is an above average X and O coach. He is a very inconsistent recruiter. And I don't know how much he has to alter his scheme to fit around the players that he is able to recruit. In the end, we get what we pay for. Oregon State pays for the 10th-best program in the Pac-12. Tinkle is usually better than that. But maybe we get worse this year? Who knows. We get what we pay for, though. Tinkle's still playing with house money in my book. Maybe he runs out this year. I don't know. But you don't run a team with the 10th-largest budget in the Pac-12 to the Elite Eight without having an above-average scheme. Phil Jackson probably puts up one or two more wins a year at Oregon State with X's and O's. Tinkle does what he can with the budget that Oregon State give him. |
