Of course, I didn't say everyone is better now. But go ahead and oversimplify it. Okay, "the other conference programs were down relative to where they are now" is exactly what you said. Prove it. I don't agree. Some are better, some are worse, I think it's pretty close to evening out. Still a denier about this program? Wake up some is what the other guys are saying.

Grayman said: "My question is will Barnes even bother to address the situation if it does get to that point?" I don't think Barnes will do a thing. As long as he isn't pulling a LaVonda Wagner dumpster fire he fits the family image at OSU Grayman, Barnes won't do a thing. Not a single thing. A pattern of another 3 years or so of this then maybe. Ticket sales will have to do the voting and I am not sure how that compares with the rest of the Pac-12 this year. Everyone is down in that area,

Everyone needs to cool off and remember 2 of our top 4 players are true freshman...that were top 10 recruits...that all stops if Rueck leaves. Does anyone else recall any other true freshman playing at this level to start with? We've had terrible luck with covid, transfers and injuries...what I saw with aj, Talia, Reagen and Timea today looks like an amazing core to me. Yeah, no other team has had to deal with Covid or transfers or injuries. You are right that the Beavers have some pretty good young players in TVO, Beers and Gardiner. The rest of the roster is not exceptional, which is part of the problem. The other part is that Rueck and his staff just haven't been able to get the team to play very well or with any real consistency on offense or defense. And part of that is Rueck's philosophy is outmoded and lacks the effectiveness it once had. The question is whether those players will really want to stay if this season just goes down in flames?

Paging Judge Smails who looks like a prophet at this point more or less saying Timea will barely move the needle. Roster looks to be flushed in the off season.

Grayman, you seem to know some inner working of this roster more than anyone else here. Is it just hunches you have or is there more behind the scenes stuff you know about. Interesting post season implications you make from time to time. Thanks for any insight.

What is everyone on about? Reading comprehension. I was responding to someone suggesting part of OSU previously being at the top of the Pac was because the conference wasn't as good then. That's debatable to me.
OBVIOUSLY OSU was much, much better when they had Weisner, Wiese, Hamblin, etc. than the current edition. There is no ground to even have a debate about that.
Seriously, how can anyone think I'm dumb enough to believe otherwise? Good grief people. Like I said, reading comprehension.

Beavs have had success with Scott’s offensive philosophy in the past, but you need a top conference defense and top conference 3 Pt shooting, both areas we have lacked in last couple years.

They are often based on information that I have/had access to. But they are still just opinions.

As pointed out earlier the pac12 record under rueck has steadily gotten worse since 2014-15. It would be one thing if a couple years ago his approach to offense and defense had changed but it hasn't. At least you could see an attempt to correct issues. But his approach has stayed status quo. Maybe extensions should include a clause that if the league record falls under 500 for a year a year is dropped from the extension,

Beers and Gardiner are good, but you need better ball handlers and 3 pt shooters for this team to win.

Well that was ugly and I’m pretty bummed right now. I’m going to go for a walk in the rain and get some fresh air. Regroup as a fan and get ready to cheer on MY team against “those of whom we do not speak”.

Well, this thread has been merged with the original thread that wasn't working. Not sure if someone did this or the board is being tweaky. Seems like some of the comments might have been lost, but not sure (not that it probably matters all that much if they were)

Obviously UW can coast at this point, but I still think the last 5 of Timea, Raegan, AJ, Talia, and Bendu is probably our best 5. My daughter said the same @beaverwbb fan. This is our best 5, and they need to play a large majority of the minutes, including starting the game. You have to learn something from every game, win or lose. Lesson #1: We won the 2nd half because we made UW work to get the ball from back court to front court. Other PAC-12 teams press most of the game, why don't we press the entire game? We can rotate other players in when someone gets tired. UW did not play as well, shoot as well, and we caused turnovers all over the court when we made UW work harder. We won the 2nd half. Lesson #2: Play your best players from the tip. We have enough players who can play important minutes when our starting 5 best players need a rest. Lesson #3: At this point in the season, it is imperative we do what we need to do to ensure our core players are playing enough minutes so they don't have thoughts of the portal We can beat UO. GO BEAVS!
