People who don't want to support the current MBB team should consider moving on instead of repeating the same talking points and trying to silence people who disagree with them. This board is for discussion, so I'm good with different opinions, but when a commenter tries to bully people from divergent viewpoints, I will fire back. I'm good with agreeing to disagree. I support this current group of kids on the team and as long as a coach is on the Beaver sideline, I will support them too. If that bothers some people, oh well. They've moved over to the women's board, where Rueck has now apparently forgotten how to coach.

That's all nice but I stated my frustrations with the coaching and you jumped all over me. Seems like the only opinions want heard are the positive ones.

Ha ha Sure, but who thought they were going to win many games this year. We all know Tinkles record and his deficiencies. I don't think anyone thought this year was going to be a good one. What's the benefit of coming in every time they lose and posting Tinkle's record or saying things like what are Tinkles defenders going to say now? Why not talk about the good, or bad things, that we see with the players on the team. Wether Tinkle is here next year, or even the year after that, hopefully most of these players will be.

"This team is like the others but lacks the star power to win. WT adjusts slowly on defense and offense, no real identity on either side of the ball and communication remains poor. Same old same old. That .500 record goal isn't looking good."
The halftime adjustments last night worked. Beavs outscored UA 48-42 in the 2nd half. OSU in possession of 'star power'? When's the last time that happened? Eubanks and GPII? That's life with MBB in Corvallis. UA buys their talent. Feel free to donate to the OSU NILs and earmark it MBB recruiting. I have.

Wasn’t able to watch the game. Saw Andela barely played — injury? And what about the two transfers, Rochelin and Wright?

2020-21 @ Colorado L 49-78 Arizona L 64-98
2022-23
@ Colorado L 42-62 Arizona L 74-86
The 2021 Arizona Thread.
Oregon State won three straight after the Arizona loss, touched off by a one-point win over Arizona State. Ethan Thompson found Warith Alatishe, who dunked the game winner with 4.1 seconds left. The Beavers would go on to win five of the next seven and 15 of the next 22 to play into the Elite Eight.
Oregon State's 34-point loss to Arizona in 2021 was the largest home loss since the 51-point loss to Seattle in the Craig Robinson era. The 39-point loss to UCLA last year was bigger, though.
Oregon State is holding opponents to four points a game fewer than the same six opponents back in 2020-21.
Anyway, it's still too early to count this team out.

I'm at least somewhat encouraged by the play of a lot of the new players.

I was encouraged the second half - showed plenty of fight, and most of the production came from three freshmen. I'm not happy with eternal moral victories, but last night anyway was a step forward.

It seems as though some here expect coaches to fix things in 1 year. That doesn't happen very often.
Tinkle brought in a bunch of good young talent in this batch of recruits, but anyone expecting them to be the equivalent of Michigan's Fab 5 or bust forgot that 1991 was 31 years ago.
I'm expecting this year's single digit losses (they've had a couple already and I'm assuming they get more) will likely be next year's wins. This years low double digit losses will likely be a mix of single digit losses and maybe some wins. This year's blowouts hopefully will be much more competitive.
Pope reminds me of a 2nd year Radford. Rataj reminds me of a young AC. Heck, Bilodeau reminds me of a young Haskins minus an inch or so. Taylor is pretty good at several things. Stevens shows talent in limited play. There's another couple on the roster I think could give us good minutes down the line. Marrs' highlight tape looks kinda like Kylor with even better ball and passing skills... I'll take it, however I hate hearing people going off of highlight tapes.
It'll be interesting to see how the remainder of the season goes. I want wins, but what I really want is them to play hard, not give up, and to continue improving. The wins will come next year and beyond.

Good to see WTs agent is going the extra mile by actively supporting him on this board.

Hey drunk isn't this tinkles 9th year? Your comment said some here expect him to fix things in one year. Last year was entirely on him due to poor recruiting last year and prior years. A year like last year is kind of acceptable if a new coach takes on a mess. But last year was a mess that a coach in his 8th year created.
