And you think the HC at OSU should have a winning Pac12 conference record in the current environment? That is delusional given the disadvantages at Corvallis.
And these disadvantages are getting worse and worse every year with the arms race and NIL.
Some people don't have rational expectations of what can currently be done in Corvallis. We have ONE peer in the Pac12, it's WSU. They haven't been the NCAA since 2008.

And now this old debate gets many more posts than the one page of in-game comments.
Apathy kills.

"Because for his sake the tournament run came before last years season. If last year came first he wouldn't have received a too long extension and he would be gone,"
There were 2 separate tournament runs, not one. Right?

A week ago wazoo played hard and ran all over Arizona at Arizona. We played hard and lost by double digits at home. And it is true there were two appearances but like I said without an extension he doesn't survive last year.

Hey look, Wazoo beat UA last week. It doesn't matter that they haven't been to the NCAA since 2008. lol

It was great to see the Beavs playing hard and win the second half. I dont think its being a Debbie Downer to notice we are subpar at passingly and to hope for better. I didn't say a word an out Tinkle 😉 Arizona looked like they were more-talented but sloppy. Oregon State played aggressively but in control in the second half. If the second half Beavs had shown up in the first half, Oregon State wins it in a boat race. Hopefully, we see that intensity carry over into the game against the Devils. I don’t think we win this game regardless. Teams often play down when the game is in hand. At no time did it feel like UA couldn’t buckle down and keep the game under control IMO. Our lack of defensive size meant they could go and get critical buckets pretty much at will. I did like the spirited effort for sure, but the talent gap was substantial.

Now you're comparing the MBB team to the 1980 US Olympic hockey team? You're way out over your skis now. Every one of the those MBB wins in the Pac12 tournament was earned by the players and coaches. Every one of the those NCAA wins was earned by the players and coaches. 2 separate tournaments and the greatest MBB season in your lifetime, that's why WT is still the coach. And now it's just killing you that this team is playing their tails off out there, and all you can do is hate. It's not hate. You again are just using pointless rhetoric. I pointed out the failings of Tinkles teams and coaching that have existed his entire tenure. Anything to say about that or just rolling with the outrage?

And now this old debate gets many more posts than the one page of in-game comments. Apathy kills. Not much to say while watching the game. Just switch out player names and look at 75% of games from the Tinkle era. No innovation or addressing of the same old problems. Be cool if we could get new problems.

It doesn't matter if people here want to see a new coach and new players with new problems.
WT has a contract. We all know this.
Scott Barnes will make that decision, not you. I thought we all knew this.
How many times do we have to do this?

I like the effort this year's team plays with especially compared to last year's team but if playing hard was all that mattered my grandkids would be champs because they always play hard.

I thought we all knew this. How many times do we have to do this? Like all the time I guess. Last round we already determined he's not going anywhere. Your defending it like that's even an option to get rid of him. I was complaining that his adjustments are always slow and we have no real identity on either side of the ball. Our offensive identity at the end of games, since Denver, is to stand around and wait for someone to do something if they are all tired then it's on conditioning, if they have no direction it's on coaches. Idk why everyone saying they just aren't good athletes is the supportive stance? That's the kind of stuff defined by coaches efforts, vision and planning right? Like making the elite 8? It's fine, I bet we get lots of good athletes that can save WT system with back to back losing seasons after an elite 8 run.

When's the last time OSU MBB had a coach that was 'going somewhere'?
It was Ralph, back in the golden days. Those days are gone.
My point is this: it's not the coach, it's the OSU MBB program and what they're up against. It's a high degree of difficulty navigating the current program thru the Pac12. Look at Gill. Look at our financial commitment to MBB. Look at our current NIL MBB. Now do the same for UCLA, USC, AU, UO, CU, UW, ASU, etc
When WT was hired back in 2014, nobody wanted the job, WT was the only person who would accept it. For all the success WT has had, nothing has changed. The job is risky for a young coach and a dead end for anybody else. Ask Jimmy, Eddie, Ritchie, Jay, Craig and WT.
More proof? Look at Tony Bennett's tenure at WSU. He's one MBB best coaches and he lasted 3 years before he was plucked. And look at their program since. Look familiar? It went back to ground zero.

Are we really getting anywhere, as a discussion group, with the same f'ng conversation after every loss?

People who don't want to support the current MBB team should consider moving on instead of repeating the same talking points and trying to silence people who disagree with them. This board is for discussion, so I'm good with different opinions, but when a commenter tries to bully people from divergent viewpoints, I will fire back. I'm good with agreeing to disagree. I support this current group of kids on the team and as long as a coach is on the Beaver sideline, I will support them too. If that bothers some people, oh well.
