Some observations:
Arizona State took 28 more shots than we did, but only shot 27.2% to our 37.7. Skinner score 22 points, but took 29 shots to do it. I'll give up 22 on 29 any time.
Raegan started out 1 for 4 from the free throw line, but finished 12 for 15. Made 11 in a row. Can't look to foul her at the end of a close game, so she can stay on the court. That's a definite plus for the Beavs.
It seemed like Arizona State got about 37 offensive rebounds, so you guess they outrebounded us. We won that statistic though, 53 to 42, the 5th consecutive game we've led that by double digits.

So we won and some trolls still bitch about it. Lots of knowledgeable trolls out there So itās āknowledgeableā to expect (after the fact) coach to call timeout every time the opponent strings some points together?

Lots of knowledgeable trolls out there So itās āknowledgeableā to expect (after the fact) coach to call timeout every time the opponent strings some points together? Not every time "the opponent strings some points together." In this instance, the Beavers were getting turned over several times, along with one or two unforced TOs that led to a 10-0 run. So yes, Rueck should have called a time out. Most coaches would. I don't question Rueck's in-game coaching often, but he was mistaken here. I am very well aware that you are a member of the Beavers can do no wrong crowd and you will never (or rarely) question what is going on with them. That's fine. I like to discuss the program, both the current team, the past and the future. I don't shy away from talking about specific players. I don't believe we should avoid that just because it's women's basketball. Trolls just swoop in and make snarky remarks or whatever. It's a weak and easy go-to whenever someone doesn't like a comment. You do you and I'll do me.

The difference in quickness is laughable...ASU has another couple of scorers other than Skinner and they win this. Beavers just can't match up and this is going to be how it is in most games nowadays. Rueck has to add more quickness (maybe Timea helps in this area soon) in the offseason. This is what college women's basketball has become. I'm not following you. Would you rather have quickness or winning? Would you rather have OSU players or ASU? I prefer winning myself.

Are they usually winning against quicker/faster teams? No. ASU has a lot of quick players but not a lot of good basketball players. Obviously, you want good players who have good quickness. Like what Stanford has. Or LSU. Or South Carolina. On and on and on. OSU would definitely benefit from having more team quickness and it would make the Beavers a much better team. Right now, the only player that truly matches up is Yeaney. It's especially noticeable when Mannen, Mit and TVO are on the court at the same time. It's not that Mannen and TVO are extremely slow, but they aren't particularly quick comparatively. IMO it is one of the main reasons they struggled against ASU's trapping defense and turned the ball over so much, Look, the need for more team speed/quickness is something that Rueck himself has acknowledged and has been trying to improve.

Anybody know if Taliaās knee is hurting her? Just seems sheās not quite šÆ. Team needs to pick up the energy and play with some killer instinct. Sheās horrible breaking the press. She forces bad passes, isnāt paying attention half the time, and passes to teammates in bad situations. Itās frustrating for a player with her IQ.
We get that you don't like TVO at all.

Most of it is justifiable criticism...agree with every point except the part about her not paying attention. Personally, I like TVO, but agree that she's not at all the level of player that many OSU fans think she is. Definitely not elite. She's more of a tweener...too short to be effective as a two and lacks the speed/quickness and overall ballhandling skills to be a high level point guard. Really need her to get out of her shooting slump...her ability to score (along with her all-around game) is what really sets her apart. When she's scoring, she's a very good player. I expect her to find her shot at some point and it will give the Beavers a huge boost when it happens.

If she were too portal out would anyone be upset or would she join the (list of failures) not mine btw, in Brown and Jones. Can they portal in even a better replacement for TVO? I am beginning to think she could thrive in a better situation. If there was a true guard would she be more effective? Is she trying to do too much?

Her shooting ability makes her a high value player. I suppose you could find a better player in the portal, but doubt that anyone like that would tend go to OSU as opposed to other programs. IMO, yes, she is often trying to do too much and I don't think she is fully aware of her limitations and often tries to exceed them. I think she's way more suited to play like Kat Tudor played, not like Destiny Slocum. I used to think Mikayla Pivec was a good comparison, but I'm not so sure now. Pivec's overall athletic ability now seems to be significantly better than TVO's.

Stanford and S. Caro. have 4 players, who were higher rated recruits than OSU has ever gotten, sitting on the bench. So yeah, lets have Rueck figure out how to manage that and we will win more games. On the list of all time OSU greats I'd list Jamie W. as the only one that was genuinely quick, so Jamie was the only actually good player that OSU has had? Being actually slow is a handicap but being quick isn't necessary to be a really good player. In the past three games, including two ranked teams, OSU has been the better team 95% of the time. Are they all slow also? PS- On the quick OSU greats, I never actually saw Ragland play so I dunno about her.
