Mark has the clearest and probably most accurate version. Matthew makes a mess of it, which he did in a couple of things that he heard second-hand, and Luke has to write in that the possessed man is naked to highlight that the man was basically a wild animal and became human by having the demons driven out. It's an interesting miracle, because it involves pigs. Outside of prohibitions against eating pigs and and sayings about pigs (e.g., pearls before swine), it is the only mention in the Bible of pigs. The writers want you to know that Jesus is not amongst Jews, because Jews did not keep pigs. It is also interesting, because the possessed man asked to become a disciple, and Jesus told him to stay there in the Decapolis and preach to other non-Jews. As such, the possessed man may have been the first Gentile to proselytize other Gentiles. This thread has gone through a heck of a genesis (no pun intended) to go from Frost being fired to talk of gentiles and disciples. |

His turnaround at UCF was amazing, I thought this was a great hire for Nebraska at the time. Boy was I wrong. That's two bad hires in a row for Nebby, for those keeping track at home. There is no good hire for Nebby. Frost should go on the Sark plan and coordinate for a big school for a bit. Then jump back in at a job where he has control and isn’t beholden to crazy corn people. |

Maybe it’s not the coaches. Maybe it’s just Nebraska. Yah no. Nebraska is really far down the list of FBS programs that have any sort of inherent disadvantages to overcome. Not really true. Rumor is their boosters and alumni are highly involved with assistant hires and there is a culture of player access that is down right weird. If coaches aren’t careful they will spend more time doing interviews on CornHolio radio 24/7 instead of coaching. It’s a s%#t job |

Riley 19-19 in 3 seasons. Frost 16-29 in 4+ seasons. Pelini 66-27 in 7 seasons....but after he was fired he indicated that he "didn't really have any relationship with the AD" and he publicly called the AD a P*ssy and a C*unt. Mmmmn....after Nebraska he was basically a .500 coach at Youngstown State for 5 seasons...and then in 2020 he had an inglorious season as DC at LSU (96 pts given up in his first 3 games). Fired at season end. Frank Solich was 58-19 in 6 seasons before being fired. Bingo! He’s the real one that shouldn’t have been fired. Just retired from Ohio U a couple years ago. Had been there since Nebraska. |

Wow I would not take seriously some of the blasphemy posted. Thought this was about Frost. Solicit was good. Remember u of o fired a coach who had a few good years.Same mentality. Control by important boosters. They will have problems until they get mad and leave.

Bet they wish they never fired Bo Pelini just for being kind of a dik Kind of??? He not only crossed the line with his bosses, he wadded it up, poured gas on it, and set it on fire! No way anyone in power lets someone stay after the things he said publicly. Zero chance. Look at what he did on the field, as Nebbys coach. They were pretty good.......he was abrasive, and kind of a dik.....he wasn't out of control. Hell, deshaun Watson still has a job....dude should be in jail! Ultimately, he was fired because Nebby wasn't happy with his on-field accomplishments.....the being "kind of a dik" made it easier for em I guess......well, the program has steadily gotten worse since he left.....I guarantee they wish they never fired him. |
