Because they know Oregon and Washington have one foot out the door. And I think people overvalue Washington. They are basically a travel partner and rivalry for Oregon. Yes it's Seattle...but if that was it...Stanford and ASU have the bigger TV markets. Washington had a way bigger fan base. ASU and Stanford have huge markets but that doesn’t mean anyone tunes in to the games. Washington hasn't moved the needle for years. They are basically Colorado of the NW. Their fans show up when they are good. Same as any school. They aren't so loyal when Washington is maxing out at 7 wins. There is a reason there are so many reports the Big 10 might go for Stanford over Oregon and Washington if ND joins. Stanford fan base?

You’d (ANYBODY) have to be a hopeless optimist to believe OSU isn’t going to get f%#*ed in this whole, miserable, gawd-awful mess. Sucks no doubt but it looks as of Wednesday AM the pac-12 looks like toast. Funny in a sad way but the ones actually throwing this thing side ways is the Zona schools , Colorado and Utah. They see Oregon and Washington and want to jump when that happens.
It is like a game of musically chairs and everyone is jockeying for a home.

We compete too well in multiple sports to get the shaft. Then again, I never thought Trump would be elected. I never thought Roe v. Wade would get overturned. Sigh. I guess we are doomed.

And these stats were from the Peterson Era medium.com/run-it-back-with-zach/which-college-football-programs-bring-in-the-most-tv-viewers-efc03c689e50

Not Oregon and Waahington

You’d (ANYBODY) have to be a hopeless optimist to believe OSU isn’t going to get f%#*ed in this whole, miserable, gawd-awful mess. If the PAC-12(10) folds, I have scene one speculation in Sports Illustrated that has the Beavers surviving in the BIG12 in a 3 Super Conference scenario (SEC, BIG10, BIG12). Basically, I think we would be last team in and leaving Wazzu outside. It all does come down to Football revenue and viewership but I do think our other sports like Baseball, gymnastics and Wrestling play well in the South.

UtahState is in Pocatello? Utah State is in Logan. Google says 105 miles from Provo. If BYU ever decides to return to the MWC it'd work.
