That's one report...don't believe the speculation until it's fact. The PAC 10 now is opening up the television negotiations a year early. Lots of speculation out there.

Must be nice to be paid to throw your opinions out there and speculate. Right about now, all the sportswriters and talk show guys are hoping this continues for another couple of months. After all, it’s what they are good at.

Remember these are the same guys who got caught totally napping by SC and UCLA leaving the Pac-12.
Nobody in a position to write about know nuthin. And nothing is happening overnight.

You’d (ANYBODY) have to be a hopeless optimist to believe OSU isn’t going to get f%#*ed in this whole, miserable, gawd-awful mess.

When your talking about hundreds of millions of dollars, who in the know is talking about this? Not television execs, conference commissioners, the people who would really know. Be careful about who you believe. Anyone can throw out speculation. Lots of behind the scenes stuff. We won't know who is playing in what conference until it's finalized.

I may be clueless (many here nod yes) but I don't see the fascination with the Big 12. Without Texas and Oklahoma, it sucks compared to the Pac-whatever minus SC and UCLA. It's a truck-stop league in flyover country.
Compare TV markets. Compare demographics. Compare weather. Compare the number of national titles, even without SC and UCLA. Compare recruiting bases. One region is growing, another isn't. The teams in the Big 12's top TV markets (Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Orlando) aren't even the No. 1 or No. 2 teams in their home market (UT, A&M are in Texas, Florida and FSU are in Florida).
Add SDSU and UNLV, wrap up two more huge and growing TV markets and call it good.

They’re desperate to stay viable. And let’s face it - it’s gonna hurt. $UC and fUCla are flagship schools, just like Texas and Oklahoma have been in the Big 12. The Pac-12 is probably worried about losing Cal and Stanford now too, and maybe even Whoregon. The best players come out of TX and CA. Nobody wants to lose access to that fertile recruiting territory.

True, but our # 3 and # 4 starters (Oregon and Washington) are far more appealing to TV eyes than Okie State, TCU, Texas Tech or whoever else is # 3 and # 4 in the Big 12. Thanks, Spud! (I think).

Yeah, I don’t get why there are all these Pac-12 schools reaching out to the Big 12 now. I guess if you’re Utah, Colorado, or the Arizona schools, you don’t have quite as deep roots in the Pac, are closer to Big 12 territory, and maybe you just don’t wanna be left holding the bag in a crumbling Pac if the Big Ten manages to lure UW and the Bay Area schools too. This whole musical chairs thing sucks though. The Pac had such a great tradition dating back to the days of the Pacific Coast Conference, and just like that…poof, it’s gone. Nothing is sacred anymore. Eff fUCLA and $UC for this, always and forever. And of course, **** that Midwest conference that still can’t count. 🤬

They are basically a travel partner and rivalry for Oregon. Yes it's Seattle...but if that was it...Stanford and ASU have the bigger TV markets.

ASU and Stanford have huge markets but that doesn’t mean anyone tunes in to the games.
