Texas just got the best quarterback of the century so here we go boys. But coach Smith is also surprising on the recruiting trail. How we can pull Shayle away?

Personally, I would be surprised if we land her. She's someone that clearly cares and invested in her personal brand. Of her apparent 3 finalists, UT would seem to offer by far the most towards helping with those ambitions.
Here's to me being pleasantly surprised.

Shaylee added another Texas player to her Instagram follows. It looks like Texas has her attention, but that certainly doesn't mean they will be her pic. Still hoping not anyway.
At guard Texas has Rori Harmon, who was Big 12 freshman of the year, Aliya Matteru who was Honorable Mention all Big 12, Shay Holle, who made a push from more playing time late last year and had 14 starts, Kyndall Hunter, who was the Hoopgurlz #24 player of 2021, along with Najakalenga Mwewentanda, (Gatorade player of the year from South Dakota and Jordan Brand participant) and Jordan Codio who was Hoopgurlz #67 of 2022, and just added star transfer Sonya Morris from DePaul.
If Shaylee goes to Texas, they will be a very talented team, with a few unhappy talented guards who won't get the playing time they hoped and expected this season.

It must be interesting to be a college age player of any sport where you can throw out your name in the transfer portal, "follow" a coach or player from this team or that team, narrow your favorite teams to a few, and every time you sneeze a fan base is going gaga over you.

I wouldn't equate the tiny number of folks who take their time to spy on players' social media posts to a "fan base". Those folks are an extremely thin slice of the pie.

In Shay's case....you are so very wrong 😉

While Texas has a solid guard line-up already, the question I have is: would Shaylee start, and how many minutes?
Having seen 1 game of BYU's last year, and the highlight reel of Shaylee, I think Shaylee would start and get a fair amount of minutes. I don't think Shaylee would ride the pine more than any other guard (except maybe Rory).

Who from OSU does Shaylee follow on the social media platforms?

Who from OSU does Shaylee follow on the social media platforms? Only TvO from what I saw, and not a real recent follow. She follows a lot of top tier WBB players in general, so I don’t read much into her following TvO.

In Shay's case....you are so very wrong 😉 Compared to OSUWBB's "fan base", which we could say constitutes tens of thousands (includes lots of fans have never been to a game at Gill), the people who are obsessed enough to research who a potential transfer is "friending" on social media I would guess could be easily seated in the main bar space at the Peacock (with room to stretch out, and without moving the pool tables).

Vic Schaefer is a defense first kind of coach. No guarantees at all Gonzalez would be a a starter or even main rotation player at Texas. If her D wasn't up to his standards, not gonna get much court time.

If her D wasn't up to his standards, not gonna get much court time. Shaylee looks to be a pretty decent defender from her highlight reel. Rueck is also a defense first kind of coach. However, OSU needs much more backcourt help with ball handling, offensive explosiveness, and some 1-on-1 skills. Shaylee would get loads of minutes at OSU.

A rub that could be used against us is starters left and why. No one really knows why but two of them went to a familiar place and relationship in Aleah. Could be used against us. So to did Texas have a exodus of post players so that could be said in our defense. This is a time of some frustration!
