You can learn location. You can't learn velocity. You should let topvelocity, elitevelocity and driveline know that..... Lol They take guys who already throw relatively hard and bump up their velo by a MPH or two. They don't take an 88 MPH and make him a 94-95 guy, which is what I said.

It's the entire business model.

To me a key reason was in the 3rd game 1st inning when Melton took a 3-2 pitch with one out and 2 runners on. The pitch was definitely high and inside which would have loaded the bases with Buzzana up. Melton put down his bat and was taking his shin protector off when the umpire on a delay called it a strike. We had them on the ropes, but instead came up empty. Its all speculation, but you could almost feel the change in the game.

Strike zones vary with umps. Should not take borderline pitches. My point of reference was when we had that bump against lsu I think. He was calling balls 6 inches to a foot off the black edge. No way was that just. Melton took 3-2 pitches more than one time.

Summer boredom with no college BB going (soon though!) led me back to the 2022 transfer portal tracker.
The only Beav, that saw 2022 season action for OSU, to NOT have a new team listed for 2023 is Jayson Hibbard.
Hibbard is from Nampa ID - he pitched previously at College of Southern Idaho (Twin Falls). He'll turn 23 during the 2023 college season, if he plays somewhere.
I see he pitched for the Canyon County Spuds in Caldwell (Independence College Summer League) summer 2022:
7-1/3 innings / 5 ER / Whip 1.6. I note that the league has far less D-1 players than the WCL (for example)...some teams with nary a D-1 player, some with a few.

If one is so inclined, one might consider Hibbard a rather obvious "Dorman Miss".
