Ah, that explains so many of your posts. Do yourself a favor and go root for Yankees. Leave the Beavers alone. You'll be happier. Hey youre right. Pfennigs tried. Lets get him his participation trophy. Results dont mean anything. We are all just here to develop. Cant expect your Veteran Leaders to throw strikes on a consistent basis. I see. So we should cut him from the team, disregarding that he has won 4 games for us and that this was his very first loss for the Beavs this year. Yeah. 1 loss and you're out. Even if that loss is in the Super Regionals against a quality team. No mercy! Mercy is for the weak! Put him in a bodybag!

Hes been flat out bad when we needed him.

And whether we survive or not will take EVERY member of the TEAM, not just a pitcher, not just a shortstop. The team wins or the team loses. Period. Coaches, players, the whole unit.

You sure are a glass half empty kind of guy, aren't you? Too bad. Struggling against quality teams. Under statement of the year. Thats ok. As long as you do well against the bad teams. Maybe Jake should have been our mid week guy with that mentality. My glass is half empty because i threw at at the TV when i saw your man crush take the mound in the 2nd inning.

Wasn't thrilled with Pfennings starting game. He has location issues in my opinion. He shouldn't have been out there as long as he was allowed. Game 1 is too important. Auburn seemed to realize that and the Beavers played it like a regular season game. Never know what could have happened if it was played out differently. The Beaver hitting was subpar but they did score 6 runs. Oh well nothing can be done now. Hopefully things will be different tonight. We scored 6 runs? News to me. Sorry typed in 6 instead of 5. Either way, it isn't like they didn't score enough runs to win a game. Obviously, they didn't in yesterdays game.

Stop it. It's a disgrace. As for "my man," I've been Team Ferrer since February. Look back at the posts. But any so-called fan of Beaver Baseball who s%#ts on Pfennigs after his 4-1 season and overcoming injury deserves to be called out. Don't be a dick. Support these kids. Don't kick them to the curb because they lost a game....because in baseball, they will always lose a game.

So no way Pfennigs goes top 15 rounds right? Do we even want him back? Should have been pulled after the first inning. Not sure why we wasted Lattery’s long reliever ability for 1 inning of mop up… Be super surprised if Pfennigs gets a good enough round to leave unless hes hanging them up. Be even more surprised if Lattery is done for the weekend.

Pfennigs is 12-4 with a 3.75 ERA in 4 years with the Beavers. He got his first decisioned loss in 2 years last night. He will be drafted on the 2nd day of the draft (rounds 3-10). Will be following JP at the next level.

Jake has made some improvements at OSU. His fastball velocity is up about 2 mph consistently, his breaking ball is much tighter and when he's locating it in the lower half of the strike zone, a plus pitch. At 6'7" tall, he has + size and a frame than can easily add any necessary muscle mass. He is very athletic - agile and quick for a big guy. In spite of the back injury that interfered with this year, he has had a good career at Oregon State.
With regards to the draft - his rankings are not where you would expect them to be. Scouts have concerns with his command and ability to locate his fastball consistently. If you chart Jake, you see him often behind in the count, pitching with men on base or in a jam. Those all stem from command issues. Consistently locating the strike zone, ahead in the count on hitters and being able to put a hitter away with two strikes is what you would expect from the quality of Jake's pitches.
Jake's appeal will be his ability to touch 93-94 mph and maybe beyond with some mechanical changes, his + slider and his size and and athleticism. A drafting team will be viewing the "upside" and what they can do with him developmentally. If you can't locate, you will have great difficulty advancing beyond High-A in pro ball. Jake is the prototypical high-ceiling draftee that spends a year in the Florida or Arizona Instructional League under some intense instruction and development.
I'll will be interested to see where he is drafted, what team selected him and where he is assigned to report.

I think if he chose to come back and with improved control, he would be a great get for a pro team. But I know that the draft doesn't like seniors. So if he gets his chance, he should take it this year.
