I guess I'd be more surprised if they weren't talkin s%#t. They are a proud, elite program. They know they have the horses to make a run. We just need to drown out the noise and take care of biz no matter who it's against. I read the post from Vandy, I really didn't see any "sh*t" talking. Mostly just factual info. OSU vs "good" Pac12 teams... 4-8 (Zona 1-2, UCLA 2-3, Furd 1-3). If you want to count the ucks as they are a tourney team, 7-8. But, 3-6 vs Zona, UCLA, Furd to end the season/postseason. OSU bats have been essential in many wins, pretty consistent and inflated vs some inferior Pac12 opponents. I'm not a big RPI fan, but folks on this board seem to be from posts all season. If I'm checking the RPI correctly OSU played (1) opponent in the top 25 RPI, so 3 of OSU's 30 conference games... 1-2/1-3 overall vs Furd. Vandy (6) opponents in top 25, or 18 of their conference games. Anyway, the "rant" ended with something about a "shoot out" if neither get upset. Really didn't read too much more than general info, and SEC being better top to bottom.

Courtesy of the SEC Rant message board: "Oregon State has struggled against some good teams. Due to the fact that Oregon State has been playing cupcake teams in the PAC 12, that has boosted their ranking. Vandy has played countless teams this season in the SEC that have the chance to go the distance. We should be prepared for this regional quite well. Seems like they have forgot that they actually have to play at least one game before they would even meet OSU. Would love to see San Diego beat them in game 1 and see what their reaction is So does OSU....

There isn't very much interest in this Regional from my casual sniffing around. So I'm going to make a confession, I'm guilty of trying to "stir the pot."(Just with this post on Benny's House BTW) I found one guy calling the Pac 12 weak and posted it here to get a reaction, which is childish on my part. So now I'm going to make a few statements about SEC Baseball. 1) Its the best conference in baseball year in and year out. 14 teams and fan bases that show up, plus great recruits showing up on their campuses every year. 2) SEC teams are dangerous because they have power arms, power bats, athleticism, and depth in both pitching and lineups.(This is a generic statement about the top teams in their conference) 3) The SEC is over hyped in the media but they're not overated when it comes to winning games in Omaha. They do it every year. I really don't have a problem with this fan except for one thing. Calling the Pac 12 a cupcake conference in baseball seems pretty silly from both a current & historical perspective. IMO the only scary SEC team this year is Tennessee, the rest are beatable from my casual viewing of the SEC Network this year. It doesn't mean we can't lose to Vanderbilt, Auburn, or LSU, it could happen but they don't scare "me on paper or the TV."

It's all a personal take on that stuff. But, this current post could cause more of a stir? Too much pro SEC for some on this board. Lol

what does Vandy have to say about San Diego ? Not much. They don't really have any action on their message boards, they aren't talkers like other SEC fans. Some of those other SEC fans are saying they've never seen the conference weaker, which I found kind of surprising. My assumption on those types of comments, is Tennessee is loaded with talent which may be causing a drop off for some of the other conference powers. Pro ball could also be a factor, especially after Covid wiped out the 2020 season.

Let's not get cocky. We have a game to play tonight, too.
If Vandy fans weren't talking s%#t, then they aren't typical fans. Let them talk. Every fan should be loud and proud. Talk s%#t. Enjoy the competition.
Just no damn whistling!

The whistler probably had to work today in his normal job. Train Conductors have rigorous schedules.
Maybe heโll fly in for tomorrow just to piss all of you off.

Talked to a few Vandy fans. Friendly. Disappointed of course. Unfortunate because I canโt cheer against Vandy just because they are SEC. Just like fans for most teams. Support their team, but donโt bad mouth the other team.
