Seems like she has potential, but needs some work. Has a good attitude from what I can see. Needs work on her shot and she gets rushed on her passing. Just don't expect lots from her next season.

I really like this addition...Pietsch brings more quickness to the backcourt and looks to have a spark that could make her very popular with fans if it translates to this level...I don't think we need to keep wringing our hands as much about the roster at this point. It would be a good thing to add another big, but if so, Rueck will most likely have to get one from a lower level school. I don't think that's a problem, though. IMO the Beavers just need more depth in the frontcourt, not necessarily a starter or even a player that will be relied on for a lot of minutes.

Yeah, you might be right, but I'm just not sure they will be able to find two viable players to bring in.

Interesting player, definite not typical for Rueck. Smaller pg that doesn’t look particularly athletic, but appears to have really good court vision and passing ability. Will be interesting if she can play at the Pac-12 level, but I’m happy to see CR take a flyer on a true PG type.

From the portal? If so, what eligibility? Sie ist Deutsche. Sie wird Neuling.

I don't want to be a 'downer' here but stat-wise Martha Pietsch does not sound like the second coming of Destiny Slocum. During her appearances in U16 Women's European Championships in 2019 for her native Germany, the 5-5 Point guard averaged 8.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per contest and totalled 12 steals in six games. Worse yet, the last stats I can find, from Nov. of 2021, has the soon-to-be-19-year-old playing only 5 games, scoring 8 points on 1-6 FGs, 2-10 on 3's, 9 rebs, 2 assists, and 3 TOs. You can find those games here: basketball.eurobasket.com/player/Martha-Pietsch/Germany/Eisvogel-USC-Freiburg/525555?Women=1I trust Coach SR to be a good judge of talent, but she looks like Faustino 2.0 I hope I am wrong, as I often are, and have prejudged this. Noelle Mannen looks more ready for PG minutes than she does.

I would rather she was more like Jordin Canada. Never was a Destiny Slocum fan. Let's face it...we know very little about her,and stats don't really mean too much. We just have to Trust the coaches that they are getting a player that they like. People have been complaining lately that we aren't recruiting point guards, and isn't this lady a point guard? Let's give her a chance...

Hope I'm wrong but I sense the need to sign somebody.

Nah, relax you guys. She's 18, and I see the skill there that just needs developing. SR sees the potential - otherwise she never would have been offered.
She may be a role player, or she may be a starter one day. Who knows?

Noelle Mannen looks more ready for PG minutes than she does. It’s the top pro league in Germany. Some players you may recognize - looks like almost half of the DBBL is former NCAA D1 players, although not many borderline WNBA players. basketball.eurobasket.com/player/Tudor-Kat/USA/Goettingen/406534 - I’m sure SR had a chat with her about Marta basketball.eurobasket.com/player/Fuehring-Samantha/USA/Osnabrueck/363864basketball.eurobasket.com/player/Townsend-Jill/USA/Osnabrueck/450226basketball.eurobasket.com/player/Thomas-Asha/USA/Noerdlingen/371352basketball.eurobasket.com/player/Thomas-Deeshyra/USA/Halle/306579Looks like not many games were played based on stats, maybe a Covid thing. Looks like she was on the 2nd best team as well, so may have been an established roster. basketball.eurobasket.com/player/Pietsch-Martha/Germany/Freiburg/525555
