Sellers ran it to 34 consecutive batters before giving up a base hit on Tuesday. Sellers gave up a base hit and walk in the subsequent inning, as well. Sellers has not given up an earned run in his last eight appearances, last giving up an earned run 41 days ago. Opponents hit .067 against Sellers in July, a WHIP of 0.41. A GO/AO of 1.46, as well. It is still absolutely ridiculous that Sellers was not drafted last year.

Matt Boyd got moved up to AAA Columbus today for Cleveland. One more rehab start and it's up I-75 to Cleveland would be my guess.

Matt Boyd got moved up to AAA Columbus today for Cleveland. One more rehab start and it's up I-75 to Cleveland would be my guess. And in that rehab start Wednesday night, Matt pitched 6 scoreless innings, giving up 1 hit, 0 BBs and 7 Ks on 63 pitches. Ended up with a no decision though.

Rasmussen starting today for Tampa vs. Baltimore. Probably just as the opener, 1-2 innings at the most.
I'd say Boyd is ready, and the Guardians are slumping and need a stopper. The Guardians optioned a LHP to Columbus earlier today but haven't made a corresponding promotion yet.

Is there anyone else with a bigger difference between one of his good starts and one of his ugly starts? Last night at AA Chattanooga against Mississippi, Kevin Abel threw 8 innings giving up one hit and one walk. When that guy is hitting his spots he is in practicality, unhittable.
In his last three starts, 20 IP and 7 hits allowed. The previous four starts before that, 9 IP, 21 hits, and 12 BB.

So good that sometimes he has trouble throwing it for strikes. When that happens, batters sit on his fast ball and they hit it. He's a great kid with an outstanding work ethic. He did a lot for our program. Great memories! The day he gets called up I'll be on the next flight to Cincy or wherever they are playing to watch his MLB debut.

Matt Boyd today, 6 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 4 K’s. Lots of beavers love during the broadcast. Talked about him and Kwan being beavers and them meeting during off season workouts at OSU and what a great job the beavers do developing players. Mentioned both our 1-1 guys. Also Kwanny and Boydo say “Go Beavs” when they pass each other in the dugout or locker room. Now let’s get TB up there

Eisert back up to Toronto from Buffalo. He's probably getting very used to driving on the QEW.

Eisert sent back down the QEW to Buffalo when Toronto activated someone off the IL. But he had five more days in MLB, worth about $20,000 ($740k minimum salary, 180-day season, $4,111.11 per day on the active roster).
Plus five more days toward the magic number of 43; spend that much time in your career on an active M:LB roster and you qualify for a $35k annual pension at age 45.

I may be wrong but I believe when you get put on a MLB roster, one of the perks is health insurance for the rest of your life. Did Caleb Hamilton get 43 days?

Not sure about the health benefits. I think he did get 43 days. He was up from July 17-31 and from Aug. 27-Oct. 5 in 2002 and from June 24-July 1 in 2023. That's more than 43 days. He is one of very few players whose only MLB hit was a home run.
