Oregon State has four players with eligibility remaining from its 2021-22 team: guards Talia von Oelhoffen, A.J. Marotte and Noelle Mannen and post Jelena Mitrovic. The Beavers signed four high school seniors last November for the upcoming season.
And that’s not good. And it’s not a good look. No matter how much sugar coating it gets here.

It will look a whole lot worse if we don’t land some big names, which will need to be soon. No excuses for last year’s poor showing in the transfer portal - no opportunity to blame it on losing 2 assistants. We had better get proven P5 players coming in or it’s a complete debacle that CR and staff deserve heat for.

The only thing that can sugar coat the current situation is for the Beavs to land 2-4 big time players in this year's portal. If you can bring in better players than what was lost, that would be the sugar on top......and there are 'better' players out there. Do I have faith the staff can get it done. Hope, yes, faith, not so much. As you mentioned last year's transfer portal was a poor showing, and doesn't leave confidence for this summer. Now, can someone pass the sugar. There is a lot of coating that needs to be done

I read that Graves visited Taya Hanson the ASU transfer in Tempe last week in order to talk to her about transferring to Oregon. I am assuming SR and his staff are working the phones and on the road as we speak recruiting transfers. Many of the best transfers probably already have a pretty good idea what schools they are interested in, and if they don't they will soon. The next month are going to be crucial in determining what the team will look like next season.

"When Kelly [Graves] came along and showed up at my house we had wonderful conversations and I felt there was a mutual feeling of need," "He needed me and I needed a new home. It was kind of a no-brainer in the end.
Hanson told Graves her intentions at a Tempe coffee shop last week before officially announcing her commitment and signing paperwork on Tuesday.
Hanson will complete her business marketing degree on May 9 and will then enroll at Oregon in June to begin her masters program in brand management and marketing. She will be in Eugene this weekend to meet her future teammates during an official visit.

Maybe SR and WT need a 101 on how to use the portal.

So we had 3 transfer which is par for the course currently in womens basketball. We had 4 graduate one of which had 1 year left but is getting her masters paid for elsewhere. We have 4 talented ladies scheduled to come in and compete with the 4 we already have. That is 8 people we never have a full bench. Will pick up a pg for sure which we needed before all this and a couple of position players. Sky is not falling take a deep breath. You would think we lost these players off of a championship team the way people are freaking out.

These young women have been through two incredibly hard years. Many away from home for the first time after having been locked in their house or dorm for the better part of a year. The data shows that the pandemic was especially hard on young women and teen women. Depression and anxiety are off the charts for this cohort. We have no idea what is going on but we should give the benefit of the doubt to all women in the portal.
In all this attrition there is opportunity. We don't need to don sackcloth and ashes.

Just pointing out the position the team is in now. You point out the losses as if they were to be expected. Ok, if you can see that surely CR could/should have seen it coming and had a contingency plan to reload. I also wouldn’t chisel 4 incoming Freshman in until they are in school as we all know how those things can go. Maybe CR is on the verge of landing a couple of great transfers. I hope so! If not, this team will be razor thin next year. That’s all.
