Do you think KB might stay now that Taylor is in the portal as well? I am kinda shocked to see both of them transferring.

Plus she's never been enamored with playing the 4. That's (3) potential starters (no matter those that state GK is a mid-major player) lost. Hoping that this one doesn't generate more based on "we'll suck next year so I'm leaving too" syndrome!

Hoping that this one doesn't generate more based on "we'll suck next year so I'm leaving too" syndrome! KB only ever wanted to play the 4. She was only training for the 4 during the offseason, which is why she looked so raw in the post. Since the remaining players have all specifically stated that they will be back next year I'll assume that they will be. During Rueck's time at OSU I'm not aware of a single returning starter who didn't start the next season, so "potential" seems a little cautious.

It seems obvious that Taylor made known her decision to Kennedy some time ago. Taylor entering the portal probably had a major effect on Kennedys decision. What was most important to Kennedy was not playing the post. With Taylor gone she would have ended up playing at the post more than she wanted to. While if Taylor stayed she and JM would take up most of the minutes at that position. It appears that the coaches also had an inkling about Taylor leaving. This was the reason they started JM at the post position. They were trying to send a message to Kennedy that JM would be the starting center next season and not her. It was not enough to convince her, because if JM were to get injured Brown knew she would be playing the post and that was something she did not want. I am sure that Brown knew Taylors plans in that it was Jones's transferring that influenced Kennedys transfer not the other way around. Kennedy announcing her decision first does not mean that she was the one who decided first.
It always seemed to me that JM court time was reduced not because of ability but that she seemed least likely to transfer out. I also believe that her starting began after the coaches knew that Taylor intended to transfer out and were setting up for next season.

Maybe I missed it but has KB formally announced a good bye? If not that seems interesting or maybe even telling.

If you read enough of those around the country you'd think there are some templates available.

All these formal announcements (like the one by the Ohio State player I commented on elsewhere) seem about as sincere as a politician at a campaign rally, or, more accurately, that same politician giving his or her concession speech. If you're not going to actually come out and say why you're leaving, do as Kennedy did and say nothing.

I am somehow reminded of the following:
Back in the days of the NBA/ABA bidding wars, Utah of the ABA managed to sign some player (I don't remember his name) for the (then) princely sum of $600,000, or thereabouts, a year. This player had just found religion, and went on and on at his press conference about how he had prayed day and night over this decision, and that the Lord had shown him the way, and that he was absolutely sure that the Lord wanted him in Salt Lake City to do His work.
Six days later, the guy signed an $800,000 contract with the Pistons.
A reporter asked Frank Layden, the Utah coach, what he thought of that, and Layden replied, "I guess the Lord offered him more money to go to Detroit."

I heard that she has visited Baylor. Don't know much beyond that, but thought it was worth sharing.
