A 247 article says he is hearing the most from Washington, Mississippi State and Cincinnati. Here is the quote I found most interesting from Davis:
As Davis continues the process in the transfer portal, he knows what he's looking for in a program.
“I need to have the green light to make plays,” he said. “You got to know my game style and know that I'm not a typical college player. The coaches just need to know me, where I can fit in well and have pieces around me that I can play well with.”
Wow, what an ego. He sounds like Michael Jordan talking about his "supporting cast" rather than a guy who averaged 10 ppg on a 3-win team. Hope he can find a team that is willing to build around him. lol
Reading dawgman they seen excited at the prospect of getting him. Maybe he would do well at UW, but they better vet him to make sure he plays ok in the Lockeroom. The above quote should be a bit of a red flag for Hopkins. Be careful what you wish for....

Turns out he was one of the trouble makers who openly defied Tinkle multiple times and started fights w players during practice and in the locker room. I was also told he even refused to go back into the game once. No consequences naturally

I was also told he even refused to go back into the game once. No consequences naturally Just from my experience being a JV coach and assistant varsity coach at the HS level and being around some really good coaches, I have learned that coaching is less about the X and Os and game strategy - of course that stuff is important, but it is something you can learn through experience. But the difference between the average to good to great coaches is their ability to hold players accountable, to demand excellence and get the very most out of your players and to generally be a quality leader, with everything that entails. It sounds simple enough, but not everyone has that skill, I know I didn't, which is why I was happy to just be a JV and assistant coach. It takes a certain type of personality and leadership, which you either have or you don't. WT appears to be a good man, but I do wonder if he has the "it" factor that the top coaches have.

Well, he did deliver that critical preseason win over Saint Martin's with a clutch shot.
It’s interesting to look back at the 3 wins we did have and DD did not have much impact - those wins were via big games from Alatishe and Lucas. DD had some big games, but nary a W from any of them. So yea, I’m happy to wish that on the Huskies.

Very well said. And I can assure you he most certainly does NOT have that skill. DD was one of multiple guys who wouldn’t do what he was told and the program began to rot from within as the season began. Guys being jerkoffs doesn’t necessarily have to destroy a team. But when there is no punishment or even loss of playing time, only bad outcomes will result. We didn’t have our worst season EVER due to lack of talent surprisingly enough.

Then I hope he goes to Washington and burns another program down. Good riddance. Sure. It was DD that burned the season down! Good gawd. Where does a player like that belong on a team? He’s just gone through the worst season of his life and his takeaway is “ME, ME, ME.” But I’m sure his hollow, egotistical cries match your own.

If a recruit was really vetted it seems that these issues would have been found out before he signed on the dotted line.

Davis did and will again "burn down" a program. To he is an hollow and egotistical. Which is it? My quote condemns the initial take. Which of course is ridiculous. Maybe why you changed course? Davis is who he is. He acted as he was allowed to act. And, OSU MBB program was already burning. Davis wasn't at OSU when the lack of recruiting and discipline began. He was no where to be found when the rampant rumors of favoritism aired. Again, nice try in the attempt to reshuffle the deck. Maybe the recognition of such personality traits comes from self study?

I read somewhere that Tinkle said none of the transfer guys they brought in this year were recruited face-to-face. They weren't able to visit OSU or do in-home visits due to COVID. He said that resulted in them having to make some assumptions about attitude and character that normally would have been vetted much more easily in a sit down meeting. Although it still seems you would talk to their prior coaches to get a feel for how much of a team first guy he is before bringing him in. Davis is a little different in coming from a JC where he was an All-American so you would expect a lot of confidence and some ego with that type of guy. JC players include some colorful personalities and backgrounds, which is why some of them are at a JC to begin with.
